Do you have strong communication and storytelling skills that help you engage and motivate learners? Are you analytical, curious, and comfortable tracking progress and interpreting data to improve outcomes?\nALX Africa is seeking a motivated Learning Community and Hub Ops Intern in Kenya to support learners throughout their program journey while also maintaining a safe, well run hub environment. The role combines learner engagement responsibilities with day to day hub operations, working closely with the wider team to ensure program success.\nSpecific Responsibilities\nLearner Support and Community Engagement\nProvide timely support and guidance to learners throughout their ALX program journey\nAssist with onboarding activities to help learners successfully start their courses\nTrack learner progress, identify challenges, and proactively offer solutions\nSupport data collection and reporting on learner milestones and program outcomes\nFacilitate communications and engagement campaigns across multiple channels\nCollaborate with mentors, program managers, and other stakeholders to coordinate learner support\nAssist with organizing learning events, webinars, and workshops to drive community engagement\nContribute ideas to improve learner experience processes and systems\nSupport any other activities that advance learner or community engagement\nHub Operations and Stakeholder Management\nMaintain strong relationships with key hub stakeholders and partners\nEnsure hub cleanliness, safety, and operational standards through weekly inspections\nCoordinate and meet with hub support staff to ensure alignment, track delivery on duties, and surface any challenges\nEnsure hub access, maintenance, and repairs are handled promptly\nMaintain a safe, clean environment for learners and the wider ALX community\nCollect monthly feedback from the ALX community on areas for improvement\nEnsure hub property and assets are well maintained, reporting any repairs or breakages promptly\nLiaise with service providers and maintain records of services rendered and related payments for reporting\nSkill Requirements - Essential\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds\nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail\nProblem solving mindset, able to work independently and collaboratively\nProficiency with common digital tools (Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, etc.)\nData analysis skills to interpret learner attendance and progress reports\nSkill Requirements - Preferable\nPrevious experience in education support, customer service, or learner engagement\nExperience managing social media communities or digital learning platforms\nBasic understanding of program or project management tools\nExposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Google Data Studio, Power BI)\nPerson Specification/Attributes\nCourage: Willingness to speak up, challenge the status quo, and embrace new challenges.\nHumility: Openness to learning, seeking help when needed, and a focus on serving others.\nAdventure: A passion for setting ambitious goals, tackling difficult tasks, and finding joy in the journey.\nInitiative: Proactive problem-solving, a sense of ownership, and a willingness to go above and beyond.\nResilience: The ability to bounce back from setbacks, persevere through challenges, and emerge stronger.\nEmployment Type\nThis role is an in person internship position.\nDue to the considerable amount of virtual working and interaction with colleagues and customers in different physical locations internationally, it is essential that the successful applicant has the drive and ethic to succeed working in small teams physically but in larger efforts virtually.
