And that all begins with our people.\nWho You Are\nYou’re naturally curious and enjoy digging into data to understand what it’s really telling you.\nYou have strong analytical and critical-thinking skills and enjoy finding solutions to complex problems.\nYou’re detail-oriented and understand that accuracy matters when your work can influence pricing, profitability and business decisions.\nYou can take technical information and communicate it in a way that makes sense to different audiences.\nYou enjoy working collaboratively and are comfortable partnering with both technical teams and business stakeholders.\nYou’re organized and able to manage multiple priorities while keeping projects and deadlines moving.\nYou’re process-oriented, but you’re also willing to question existing processes when you see an opportunity to make them better.\nYou’re interested in continuing to develop your actuarial knowledge and understanding of the property and casualty insurance industry.\nYou’re adaptable, persistent and comfortable working through problems that don’t always have an obvious answer.\nHow You’ll Make an Impact\nDevelop, produce and maintain custom reports and analysis that respond to business and operational needs.\nQuery and analyze data from a variety of sources, transforming complex information into clear, useful insights.\nSupport the implementation of pricing, product and process changes across AMA Insurance.\nHelp translate actuarial filings and proposed changes into clear business requirements.\nCreate and maintain rating calculators that support the implementation of pricing and underwriting changes.\nDevelop test plans and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) to help ensure changes are implemented accurately.\nSupport and troubleshoot changes involving the insurance rating engine.\nContribute to rate filings, including rating profiles, rate pages and related documentation.\nConduct market research and competitive analysis to help inform pricing and product decisions.\nWork with partners across Actuarial, Underwriting, Business Intelligence and IT to implement changes and resolve issues.\nSupport analytical and data requirements associated with reinsurance and other actuarial activities.\nLook for opportunities to improve existing processes, create reproducible workflows and increase efficiency. \nWhat You Bring to the Table\nA degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.\nSuccessful completion of a minimum of two CAS exams and all VEE credits, with active pursuit of the ACAS designation.\nProperty and casualty insurance industry experience is an asset.\nWorking knowledge of analytical tools and technologies such as Excel, Access, SQL, Arius, Python, R, Emblem and SAS.\nStrong research, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.\nAn understanding of-or an interest in continuing to develop your knowledge of-the property and casualty insurance business.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.\nStrong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.\nA willingness to learn, develop your technical capabilities and continuously improve the way work gets done.\nBelonging Matters Here\nAMA is committed to providing an inclusive, respectful, and accessible environment.
