This individual will have a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, finance concepts, practices and standards as well as knowledge of government industry practices. This position will be based in Hampton, VA. Salary range is $70k-$80k. US citizenship or Permanent Residence is required.\nResponsibilities:\nSignificant interface with program and project managers, senior technical staff, as well as other functional organizations including contracts, finance, human resources, payroll, accounts receivable, procurement, subcontract management, etc.\nProcess and monitor subcontractor invoicing status and support monthly sub-contractor accruals.\nAssist Program/Project Analyst with various accounts payable tasks.\nReconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances and maintaining historical records.\nResponding to vendor enquiries. Prepare analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports.\nSet up new vendors/employees in Costpoint and assist subcontractors with completion of timesheets in Costpoint.\nSet-up purchase orders and process purchase order revisions in Costpoint.\nCoordinate appropriate project codes to include start and termination dates for employees assigned to the project.\nReview new task orders and modifications (MODs) for accuracy and consistency.\nTrack all costs to validate that actuals plus projected costs do not exceed budget/funding.\nEnter and track changes of purchase orders and respective funding status.\nIdentify financial discrepancies and coordinate corrections and assist with month end closings.\nAd-hoc reporting to support evaluation and analysis of annual workplan.\nSupport finance management team in preparation of budget forecasting\nRequirements:\nBachelor's degree with emphasis in finance, accounting, or a related discipline and a minimum of 3 years of direct, applicable work-related experience OR associate's degree with emphasis in finance, accounting, or a related discipline and a minimum of 6 years of direct, applicable work-related experience OR high school diploma with a minimum of 10 years of direct, applicable work-related experience\nStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.\nIntermediate/advanced experience with Excel including pivot tables and lookup formulas. Preferably, understanding of data integration and modeling concepts.\nExperience with Deltek Costpoint is strongly desired.\nGeneral understanding of multiple contract types: FFP, FPLOE, T&M, CPAF, CPFF, and hybrid contracts.\nAbility to integrate into small teams, while balancing requirements across many stakeholders.\nAbility to interface successfully with customers.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills.\nAbility to quickly adapt to dynamic work requirements and learn new disciplines.\nKnowledge of government project management requirements is desirable.\nAnalytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is proud of our customer relationships, our diverse and dynamic work environment, and our employees' career satisfaction.
