This is a fully remote role where you'll play a key part in improving the reliability, performance and scalability of critical database platforms.\nAs the Database Reliability Engineering SME, you'll be the technical expert across open-source database technologies, with a particular focus on Percona/MySQL and MongoDB. You'll work closely with engineering teams to optimise database performance, improve resilience, support high availability and implement best practice monitoring and disaster recovery strategies.\nKey responsibilities & Duties Include: \nOptimising the performance, availability and reliability of production databases.\nSupporting and improving MongoDB and Percona/MySQL environments.\nReviewing and improving replica sets, sharding, replication and clustering.\nTroubleshooting database issues and carrying out root cause analysis.\nDesigning and validating backup and disaster recovery solutions.\nBuilding and improving database monitoring, observability and alerting.\nLeading database upgrades, migrations and optimisation projects.\nWorking closely with DevOps, infrastructure and application teams to deliver reliable database platforms.\nCreating documentation, runbooks and sharing best practices with the wider engineering team.\nRequired Skills: \n7+ years' experience in Database Engineering or Database Reliability Engineering.\nStrong hands-on experience with Percona/MySQL.\nCommercial experience supporting MongoDB (including replica sets, sharding, indexing and performance tuning).\nExperience with PostgreSQL is beneficial.\nStrong understanding of replication, clustering and high availability.\nExperience with backup and disaster recovery, including Percona XtraBackup.\nExperience using monitoring tools such as Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM), Prometheus and Grafana.\nGood Linux/Unix administration and scripting skills.\nExperience working with AWS, Azure or GCP database services is an advantage\nWhat’s in it for you: \nAn opportunity to join a fast-growing company \nOptions for career advancement \nLearning and development opportunities \nFlexible working environment\nCompetitive salaries based on experience \nEqual Opportunity Employer:\nAmach is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
