Through innovation and digital solutions, we aim to enhance accessibility, streamline processes, and create a seamless user experience.\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nDesign, build, and own critical backend services that power underwriting, credit scoring, and loan decisioning workflows.\nDevelop high-performance Go services for score orchestration, policy evaluation, decision APIs, and related lending platform capabilities.\nIntegrate credit models, rule engines, third-party data providers, and internal risk systems into reliable production flows.\nEnsure decision pipelines are accurate, explainable, auditable, and resilient under high throughput.\nDefine and evolve service contracts, data models, and event schemas used across underwriting and scoring systems.\nImprove reliability, latency, and operability of core backend platforms through monitoring, alerting, and performance optimization.\nPartner with ML, risk, product, and data teams to productionize scoring and underwriting capabilities end to end.\nLead technical design discussions, review architecture trade-offs, and raise the engineering bar through mentoring and code review.\nHandle production incidents, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement of system resilience.\nUphold engineering and compliance standards for secure, governed, and business-critical lending systems.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n5+ years of backend engineering experience, with strong production experience in Go (Golang).\nDeep understanding of designing and building scalable, reliable microservices and APIs (REST and/or gRPC).\nExperience with distributed systems concepts: concurrency, messaging, idempotency, retries, consistency, and fault tolerance.\nStrong proficiency with SQL databases, data modeling, indexing, query performance, and transactional integrity.\nFamiliarity with Kafka or similar event-driven architectures, caching (e.g. Redis), and containerized deployments.\nExperience building or integrating underwriting, credit scoring, loan decisioning, or risk-related systems in fintech or digital lending.\nUnderstanding of credit workflows such as application intake, feature/data aggregation, score orchestration, policy rules, decisioning, and audit trails.\nAbility to work with ML-serving systems, model APIs, feature stores, or score pipelines in production.\nExperience with cloud platforms, CI/CD, observability, and production incident handling.\nStrong system design, code quality, and mentorship skills.\nAt Amartha, we are dedicated to creating a workplace that celebrates diversity, ensures equity, and fosters inclusion.
