Learn more about our benefits.\nWe are seeking a Senior Network Architect with deep expertise across WAN, LAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, Private 5G and Sensors technologies to design, implement, and operate secure, resilient, and scalable enterprise network infrastructure.\nThis role is hands-on and highly technical, with responsibility for architecture, engineering, lifecycle management, automation, and operational excellence across campus, data center, manufacturing, R&D, and cloud-connected environments.\nThe Senior Network Architect partners closely with security, cloud, OT, and application teams to deliver reliable connectivity aligned with business priorities.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Network Engineering & Architecture\nDesign, implement, and support enterprise WAN, LAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, firewall, and Private 5G network solutions.\nLead detailed network designs for campus, data center, manufacturing, OT, and R&D environments.\nDevelop and maintain high- and low-level design documentation, traffic flows, and implementation guides.\nEnsure network solutions meet requirements for scalability, resilience, performance, and security.\nContribute to reference architectures and standardized network patterns.\n2. LAN & WLAN Engineering\nDesign and deploy campus and building LANs, including switching, VLANs, routing, and redundancy models.\nEngineer enterprise Wi-Fi solutions focusing on RF design, capacity planning, and performance optimization.\nTroubleshoot complex wired and wireless issues using packet captures, telemetry, and logs.\nSupport NAC, 802.1X, and identity-based access integrations.\n3. WAN / SD-WAN Engineering\nEngineer and operate global WAN and SD-WAN deployments, including internet, MPLS, DIA, and cloud connectivity.\nOptimize routing, traffic steering, QoS, and application performance.\nSupport segmentation, redundancy, failover, and high-availability designs.\nWork with service providers and vendors on circuit provisioning, troubleshooting, and optimization.\n4. Private 5G, OT & Sensor Network Engineering\nDesign, implement, and support Private 5G, OT, and sensor network connectivity for manufacturing, industrial, and R&D environments.\nIntegrate Private 5G with existing wired (LAN), wireless (WLAN), SD-WAN, and WAN infrastructures to provide seamless and secure end-to-end connectivity.\nEngineer secure, scalable connectivity for industrial devices, PLCs, sensors (IIoT), robots, vision systems, and IoT platforms.\nSupport deterministic, high-availability network designs to meet low latency, high reliability, and real-time traffic requirements.\nImplement segmentation and security controls to isolate OT systems, sensor networks, and IT workloads while enabling controlled data exchange.\nCollaborate with OT, manufacturing, and security teams to align network design with safety, production continuity, and compliance requirements.\nEnsure ongoing monitoring, performance optimization, and lifecycle management of Private 5G cells, gateways, edge devices, and sensor connectivity.\n5. Network Security Integration\nConfigure and support firewalls, VPNs, ZTNA, and secure connectivity in partnership with security teams.\nImplement segmentation, access controls, and secure routing architectures.\nParticipate in firewall policy design reviews and traffic flow validation.\nEnsure networks align with Zero Trust and defense-in-depth principles.\n6. Operations, Troubleshooting & Incident Escalation Support\nAct as a senior technical escalation point for complex network incidents.\nPerform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.\nSupport network changes, upgrades, and maintenance with minimal disruption.\nParticipate in on-call or escalation rotations as required.\n6. Automation, Standards & Continuous Improvement\nDevelop and maintain network standards, templates, and configuration baselines.\nDrive automation using scripting and infrastructure-as-code approaches where applicable.\nReduce operational debt through simplification, standardization, and lifecycle management.\nTrack and improve network performance, availability, and operational metrics.\n7. Cross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with Network Security, Cloud, OT, Application, and Infrastructure teams.\nSupport project planning, technical assessments, and implementation timelines.\nParticipate in design reviews and architecture discussions.\nClearly communicate technical issues, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.\n8. Financials & Project Management\nOwn end to end budgeting and financial governance for network products, including annual OPEX/CAPEX planning and funding approvals.\nManage renewals and vendor contracts, driving cost optimization and negotiating savings across all platforms and services.\nLead project intake cost modeling, including resource costing, design/engineering estimates, and financial impact assessments.\nQualifications\nEducation\nBachelor’s/Diploma degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field.\nExperience\n8-12+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering\nStrong hands-on experience with: WAN, SD-WAN, LAN, WLAN,\nFirewalls, VPN / ZTNA\nSensors & Private5G\nManufacturing, OT, or large campus networks\n\nExperience supporting hybrid environments with public cloud connectivity (AWS, Azure)\nSkills\nWAN & SD-WAN: Routing (BGP, OSPF), MPLS, DIA, cloud interconnects\nLAN & WLAN: Switching, VLANs, RF design, wireless troubleshooting\nSecurity: Firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, NAC\nPrivate 5G: Architecture, integration, and operational support (preferred)\nNetwork monitoring, telemetry, and troubleshooting tools\nStrong understanding of high availability, redundancy, and performance optimization\nSoft Skills\nStrong problem-solving and analytical mindset\nAbility to work independently on complex technical challenges\nClear written and verbal communication skills\nCollaborative approach across cross-functional teams\nOperational discipline with attention to detail\nPreferred\nNetwork Wired/Wireless certifications (CCIE Routing & Switching, Aruba, Palo Alto etc.)\nExperience in manufacturing or industrial network environments\nFamiliarity with ITIL, NIST, or enterprise network standards\nAdditional Information\nTime Type:\nFull timeEmployee Type:\nAssignee / RegularTravel:\nYes, 10% of the TimeRelocation Eligible:\nNoApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
