In this role, you will build analytics that help leaders understand customer needs, identify growth opportunities, and guide product investments across the storage portfolio.\nAs a Sr. BIE on this team, you will own an analytical roadmap supporting AWS Storage services, from defining business questions and metrics to delivering analysis and automated reporting. You will investigate the drivers of customer adoption, storage consumption, retention, and revenue, translating your findings into recommendations that influence business and product decisions. You will work with large, complex datasets spanning service usage, billing, and customer behavior, developing and testing hypotheses to explain business performance. You will partner closely with product, business, finance, and engineering leaders to tackle ambiguous problems, evaluate feature adoption, and understand how customer workloads evolve across object, archive, and file storage.\nBeyond building analytics for AWS Storage, this team is reimagining how analytical work itself gets done. We are developing agentic capabilities that automate and accelerate the daily work of a business intelligence engineer, from building reports to answering analytical questions on demand. As a Sr. BIE, you will help shape and adopt these capabilities, applying them to scale your impact and informing how they evolve. You will combine storage domain expertise with new approaches to automation to improve the speed and quality of analytical work.\nKey job responsibilities\nDevelop a deep understanding of the business drivers, customer workloads, usage patterns, and data landscape for AWS Storage services.\nOwn and deliver a reporting and analytical roadmap that measures customer adoption, storage consumption, retention, revenue, and feature adoption.\nDeliver in-depth, data-driven analysis papers that explain business performance and identify actionable opportunities for business and product leaders.\nDesign and build scalable data pipelines and models that produce reliable business metrics from large, complex datasets.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and onboard new data sources that expand analytical coverage across storage services and customer workloads.\nCommunicate findings clearly to business, finance, product, and technical audiences to influence decisions and product enhancements.\nBuild and adopt agentic capabilities that automate and accelerate analytical work, from report generation to answering analytical questions on demand.\nMentor junior engineers and establish analytical standards and best practices for the team.\nBasic qualifications\n- 10+ years of professional or military experience\n- 5+ years of SQL experience\n- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets\n- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results\n- Experience with AWS technologies\n- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.\n- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining\nPreferred qualifications\n- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs\n- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership\nAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.\nOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
