Requirements:

Look for engineers who've built and shipped backend/cloud systems, not just maintained them.
They must show strong CS fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, design patterns, networking, performance, and cloud (esp. AWS).
Look at tenure and impactengineers who've stayed and delivered for 3+ years at their current company (esp. at senior levels). They must still write code hands-on, lead technically, and NOT be in people-only manager tracks.
Hands-on backend experience in Golang or Java.
Built/operated scalable distributed systems or high-availability SaaS products.
Deep AWS/cloud knowledge, with modern CI/CD, containers, and infra-as-code (Terraform).
Solid grasp of system design, debugging, Monitoring, instrumentation, and observability.
