Our mission is to provide a commerce foundation that accelerates business innovation and delivers a secure, available, performant, and reliable shopping experience to Amazon’s customers.\nWe are looking for an experienced and technically skilled individual to join our Data Engineering and Analytics team as a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE). The ideal candidate will be an analytical, results-oriented, self-motivated, and customer-focused Business Intelligence Engineer who will play a key role in continuous improvement for the critical systems that enable our entire retail business. The role will also include surfacing key product metrics as well as building critical data pipelines and analytics tools to improve efficiency and quality of strategic business decisions.\nKey job responsibilities\nDefining, developing and maintaining critical business and operational metrics reviewed on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.\nAnalysis of historical data to identify trends and support decision making, including written and verbal presentation of results and recommendations.\nCollaborating with software development teams to implement analytics systems and data structures to support large-scale data analysis and delivery of reports.\nIdentifying data needs and driving data quality improvement projects.\nThought leadership on data mining and analysis. Understanding the broad range of Amazon’s data resources, which to use, how, and when. Mining and manipulating data from database tables, simulation results, and log files. About the team The eCS Data Engineering and Analytics team are data experts that build and manage the data environment, generate insights, and develop solutions to enable data-driven decision making for eCS Organisation. The team’s key focus areas are gathering data requirements, setting up & owning business metrics, data integration, building dashboards & scorecards, and generating actionable insights for eCS stakeholders.\nBasic qualifications\n- 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience\n- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools\n- Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)\n- Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)\nPreferred qualifications\n- Bachelor's degree\n- Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design\n- Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis\nOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
