This manager will be responsible for a growing team and will oversee their development and growth. (GovCloud may NOT be accessed from outside of the United States)\nKey job responsibilities\nPrioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators, project management, coaching, and creating documentation.\nManage inbound capacity from receiving through deployment stages\nManage the installation network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment\nGuide, train and educate staff on the best practices related to all service owner issues\nManage tasks and deliverables across small to large-size projects\nRecommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required SLAs\nProvide weekly report to the data center manager\nCoordinate team resources to support project and delivery needs, including emergency projects, change management and maintenance window support, and potential off-hours and on-call needs.\nRecruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels\nHost weekly staff meetings\nDrive compliance to Amazon performance management requirements\nThis role supports data centers in various operational stages. The position may be assigned to a facility still under development, which could require travel to established locations for training until your designated site becomes fully operational.\nEssential Requirements\nAbility to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed\nWillingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational\nTravel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility\nCandidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as required by business needs.\nBasic qualifications\n- 4+ years of people management experience\n- 4+ years of experience in a data center technology role and/or 4+ years of knowledge in TCP/IP networking, network cabling, fiber, optic types, and test equipment\nPreferred qualifications\n- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT-related field (e.g. computer science, network engineering, etc.)\n- Understanding of networking infrastructure topology\n- Certifications in a relevant field (CCENT, Network+, CCNA)\n- Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience\n- Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.\n- Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment & troubleshooting methodologies\n- Experience contributing to the definition and implementation of automation opportunities within an operations environment\nThe base salary range for this position is listed below.
