This role demands both the strategic foresight to anticipate where the market is heading and the operational excellence to execute across a matrixed, global organisation. \nKey job responsibilities\nTechnology Strategy & Vision\nInfluence UKI's technical strategy aligned to AWS's global priorities, serving as the primary technology voice shaping product direction, go-to-market investment, and customer engagement. Anticipate emerging technology trends and position AWS as the partner of choice. Build mechanisms to scale AWS impact across industries and contribute thought leadership through whitepapers, public speaking, and media engagement.\nExecutive Customer Engagement & Influence\nEngage at C-suite and board level as a trusted advisor on digital transformation, AI strategy, and cloud-native architecture. Build executive relationships that accelerate adoption and unlock new value. Develop compelling technical narratives connecting AWS capabilities to customer priorities - driving pipeline, deal velocity, and revenue growth. Formulate strategies driving broad adoption of AWS services and generative AI capabilities. Lead multiple complex, high-stakes customer engagements simultaneously.\nOrganisational Leadership & Talent Development\nLead and inspire a team of Solutions Architects, fostering technical excellence, customer obsession, and continuous innovation. Build next-generation technical leaders through coaching and development. Set high standards for operational management through goals, metrics, and planning mechanisms.\nCross-Functional Partnership & Influence\nPartner with Sales, Specialists, Marketing, Professional Services, and Partners to drive revenue growth. Collaborate with global teams to shape the product roadmap. Operate as a senior leader within the AWS UKI Leadership Team, contributing to broader business strategy.\nBasic qualifications\n- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field\n- Executive leadership experience in a technical, customer-facing role within the technology industry\n- Multiple years of design, implementation or consulting experience with cloud native applications and architectures\n- Extensive people management experience including growing technical leaders\n- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated effectiveness engaging tech and business C-level executives \n- Experience working in a matrix structure and influencing stakeholders at multiple levels and across global organizations\nPreferred qualifications\n- History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture experience with large-scale customers or enterprises \n- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud \n- Familiarity with common enterprise services or platforms\n- Track record of presenting and influencing up to C level across technical and non-technical audiences\n- High degree of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations \n- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly\n- Experience working in multi-cultural and international environments, and the ability to navigate the intersection of UKI business culture and global corporate norms.\n- Previous experience of AWS is preferred, although you should have experience in complex virtualized environments\nAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
