If you can design an electrical system, have an understanding of the critical equipment needs for a data center, understand the constructability of varying designs, and lead an electrical design team you may be a good fit. As we grow we are structuring our team to own more of our engineering in house. Engineers will be responsible for taking designs from concept to the permit and construction document set. You must be capable of leading a team to define critical equipment specifications and approve equipment submittals. This position is based out of Herndon, VA or Austin, TX. Travel to our data centers (located throughout AMER region), yearly team off-sites and vendor factory visits are required. Domestic travel could be up to 20% of your time. International support will be part of the job and some international travel will be necessary. An understanding of international electrical design requirements is helpful but not necessary.\nKey job responsibilities\nLead a team of electrical engineers in the design of data center critical infrastructure systems.\nFacilitate weekly meetings with staff, resource planning, evaluating external consultants, addressing design issues and be responsible for the quality of electrical engineering designs.\nDrive process improvements within your team.\nBe a leader within the group as well as within internal and external teams that support the data center.\nWork with internal teams to understand user requirements.\nParticipate in site selection reviews.\nData center electrical designs and collaboration with other disciplines to create a construction document set.\nCreation of designs which meet or exceed our quality requirements and fall within our budgetary requirements.\nWork with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate electrical equipment.\nWork with local utilities to understand and define site utility requirements.\nWork with local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes.\nReview and approval of equipment submittals.\nDefine project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phases.\nWork with commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems.\nAbility to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.\nTravel to sites for site review and work with onsite field engineers, as well as provide engineering evaluations, electrical systems audits, and startup as needed.\nHaving fun and offering creative, out of the box solutions.\nAbout the team\nAbout the team\nOur team also puts a high value on work-life balance.
