You will work across the full development cycle: architecture, implementation, code review, testing on real devices, and production release. Our team operates with high autonomy and a strong feedback culture.\nThe ideal candidate:\nHas shipped embedded products to production and understands what it takes to go from prototype to millions of devices in the field.\nWrites clean, maintainable C/C++ for constrained environments and cares deeply about code quality.\nCommunicates proactively, raises technical risks early, and drives solutions across teams.\nThrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift as customer needs evolve.\nIs curious about the full stack, from hardware registers to cloud connectivity, and enjoys learning new domains.\nKey job responsibilities\nDesign, implement, and maintain embedded firmware in C/C++ for Ring devices.\nSpecify and implement functionality for embedded subsystems (connectivity, streaming, power management, sensors, or security).\nCollaborate with hardware, QA, cloud, and app teams to deliver integrated product experiences.\nParticipate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and cross-team architecture decisions.\nDebug complex issues across hardware and software boundaries using JTAG, UART, and protocol analyzers.\nA day in the life\nYou start the morning reviewing a code change from a colleague working on a new sensor driver. After your team standup, you spend focused time implementing a feature for an upcoming product launch, testing it on real hardware at your desk. In the afternoon, you dig into a tricky issue that only reproduces on one board variant, tracing it from application code down to a register misconfiguration. You push your fix, verify it on the device, and close the day knowing it will ship to customers in the next release.\nInternal job description\nBasic qualifications\n- Basic qualifications\n- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience\n- Extensive experience in computer architecture and embedded wireless systems\n- Extensive embedded development experience in C or C++\n- Familiarity and experience with ARM CPUs\n- Extensive experience with writing low-level drivers, interrupt service routines and general troubleshooting/debugging with hardware\nPreferred qualifications\n- Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field\n- Experience with one of more commercial wireless protocols like BLE or WiFi\n- Experience in firmware development and testing of battery powered products\n- Experience with development tools like IAR/Keil and Git version control system\n- Experience with common bus protocols such as SPI, I2C, and UART\n- Experience with software testing (unit, regression and system testing)\n- Knowledge of embedded Linux and FreeRTOS\n- Comfortable in some scripting language such as Python\n- Experience in building GenAI applications\nAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
