The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.\nKey job responsibilities\n- Able to properly respond, acknowledge, investigate, and dispatch critical alarms\n- Monitor the facility infrastructure platform\n- Perform change management tasks\n- Create and issue tickets\n- Follow verbal and written directions\n- Have an intermediate level of understanding of critical infrastructure\n- Proficient computer and communication skills\n- Required shift-work, overtime, and/or rotating schedules to support a 24X7 environment (Rotating shift work equates to weekends, nights, holidays and overtime shifts)\nA day in the life\nThe Facility Operations Center (FOC) serves as the centralized 24/7 remote monitoring center for AWS data center’s critical physical facilities infrastructure systems.\nWe support availability by assisting internal teams in communicating prompt and accurate alarm and event notifications.\nThe FOC ensures safety across all AWS data centers by enforcing Change Management policies and is the communication hub during emergency and normal operations.\nAbout the team\nThe Facility Operations Center (FOC) is a singular support team which proactively monitor the life-safety systems and the infrastructure equipment alarms (e.g., chillers, temperature sensors, generators, UPSs, switchgear, breakers, PDUs, and ATSs) that provides power and cooling to the platform 24x7x365. We support Data Center Engineer Operations teams who are responsible for the operation of infrastructure equipment. Our role is to ensure that critical alarms are properly Responded to, Acknowledged, Investigated, and Dispatched (RAID).
