ICQA Area Manager (m/w/d)

We are looking to hire an ICQA Area Manager to take ownership of our fulfillment centers Inventory Control and Quality Assurance (ICQA) team. Our fulfillment centers (FC) sit at the heart of Amazon’s rapidly growing operations network: they are where we manage our fast-moving inventory. In each fulfillment center, our teams stow deliveries, pick products, package them up and ship them out; each of these groups have played their part in taking us where we are today. These fulfillment centers are fast-paced and high reward environments, where adherence to policies and procedures is key. We need a leader that ensures we deliver as reliably as ever to our customers, while making sure our teams deliver on customer obsession.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of hourly Associates (including Team Leads and Data Analyst) assigned to inventory control, quality assurance and problem solve operations within the fulfillment center;
• Support safety programs and compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates. Work with Operations and other Support teams to establish, influence and adhere to policies and procedures;
• Coordinate inventory control, quality assurance and problem solve operations in accordance to network strategies and ensuring compliance and consistency;
• Conduct shift planning and forecasting, alongside assigning and directing work. Oversee projects to streamline processes, increase quality and optimize productivity.
• Ensure KPIs are reviewed on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis and perform quality analysis on any behaviors/processes that could impact inventory integrity and Customer esperience;
• Gain expertise in key fulfillment center process paths and its exceptions handling in order to drive processes continuous improvement alongside the operations management team;
• Support in interviewing and training fulfillment center managers and associates, developing talent and hiring the next generation of managers. A day in the life You'll work shifts at a fulfillment center, overseeing inventory control, quality assurance, and problem-solve operations. Each day begins with a team huddle to review performance, set goals, and address issues. Throughout your shift, you'll analyze inventory discrepancies, resolve receiving issues, and coach team members on accuracy. You'll regularly identify trends and process improvements, collaborating with partners across Catalogue, Procurement, Supply Chain, Loss Prevention, and Program Management. On the floor, you'll observe processes, ensure safety standards, and develop team members by identifying training needs. At shift end, you'll prepare a handover summarizing key events, issues, and priorities. Basic qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent qualification

- Demonstrated solid proficiency in time management skills, alongside confidence in organising vast amounts of data

- Resilient, focused problem solver and self-starter, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a complex, occasionally ambiguous environment

- Proven ability to influence, with varying levels of seniority within an organisation

- Previous experience in inventory placement and optimisation

- Fluent user of the entire MS Office suite, especially Excel; MS Access experience is a plus

- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in the local language and in English

Preferred qualifications

- Strong analytical abilities, including proficient mathematical and data analysis skills, inventory topography optimization

- Able to swiftly pick up new software systems and data analysis tools

- Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and techniques
