To be successful you need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while showing the highest standards of execution.\nKey job responsibilities\nPerform hardware rework operations on OISL components including complex assembly/disassembly, component replacement, and precision alignment procedures\nExecute failure analysis and root cause investigations on non-conforming OISL hardware\nDevelop and maintain SOPs for rework operations, recovery processes, and quality control procedures\nImplement safety protocols and ensure compliance with all safety standards for optical systems and precision hardware\nLead process improvement initiatives to increase rework efficiency, reduce scrap rates, and improve first-pass yield\nConduct detailed inspections and testing of reworked hardware to validate functionality and performance\nCollaborate with engineering teams to validate rework procedures and implement corrective actions\nTrain team members on proper rework techniques, safety protocols, and quality standards\nDocument technical issues, rework procedures, resolutions, and lessons learned\nTrack and report on rework metrics including cycle time, yield rates, and defect trends\nA day in the life\nLaboratory setting with specialized optical test equipment and precision rework tools. May require occasional extended hours to support critical hardware recovery efforts. Collaborative team environment focused on product quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.\nBasic qualifications\n- 2+ years of software QA testing work with writing the test plans, use cases, and issue reports experience\n- 3+ years of consumer electronics lab environments experience\n- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience\n- Experience in software QA testing including writing test plans, use cases, and issue reports\n- Experience in a consumer electronics lab environment\n- Experience in a Linux or Unix environment\n- Experience working on a consumer hardware or software product\n- Experience in developing SOP to build mechanism for complicated working process\n- Knowledge of location specific production guidelines and procedures\n- Experience in creating process improvement procedures\n- Associate's degree in Electronics, Mechanics, Product Design, Manufacturing Technologies, Computer Science, or other STEM discipline, or equivalent work experience\n- 1+ years of experience in a technical lab environment or production rework environment\n- Experience with hardware rework, assembly/disassembly, or precision manufacturing operations\n- Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills\n- Ability to interpret engineering documentation including drawings, schematics, and work instructions\nPreferred qualifications\n- Knowledge of Jenkins build environments\n- Experience configuring, deploying, and testing software updates, including the ability to identify issues and escalate to development as appropriate\n- Experience running user trials, beta, field testing or collecting customer feedback\n- Experience working with hardware and software teams for setting up, testing, and troubleshooting prototype devices\n- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) field\n- Experience troubleshooting issues and root cause analysis\n- Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, macros, SQL, visualization tools - Tableau, Quicksight, etc.\n- Experience with optical systems, fiber optics, or photonics hardware\n- Experience with precision alignment, bonding, or micro-assembly techniques\n- Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and testing equipment\n- Familiarity with lab equipment calibration and maintenance\n- Background in continuous improvement frameworks (Six Sigma, Lean, 5S)\n- Strong technical writing and documentation skills\n- Experience with BGA rework, underfill processes, or advanced PCB rework techniques\nAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.\nOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
