We are seeking a talented and motivated Manufacturing Engineer with a proven track record of implementing best in class test techniques and processes within a complex supply chain. As a member of the Cloud-Scale Machine Learning Acceleration team, you will be the interface between the system engineering team and the ODM and CM partners.\nAs a Manufacturing Engineer you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design infrastructure technologies. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test in manufacturing. A successful candidate will be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You will:\n- Be responsible for the test validation of future technologies. \n- Drive manufacturing process improvements to address reliability issues and concerns. \n- Qualify manufacturing lines and mechanisms for mass production\n- Lead identifying and validating product/component risks and work with design teams to mitigate them and define the test methodology and test coverage to assure product quality\n- Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers.\n- Working with multiple vendors and ODMs to standardize component manufacturing and reliability expectations.\nThe successful candidate will be capable of making wide-ranging business decisions on behalf of the organization and willing to “roll up sleeves and do what needs to get done” to consistently deliver results. We’re changing an industry, and we want individuals who are ready for this challenge. \nKey job responsibilities\n- Manage manufacturing technical operations support at the factory\n- Provide On-Site support to new product launches as well as sustaining issues\n- Design in quality and manufacturability on new designs of servers and racks\n- Root cause customer impacting issues and drive resolution\n- Work with system engineering teams to identify and escalate manufacturing challenges by enforcing DFM, DFA and DFS principles\n- Evaluate, investigate and introduce new manufacturing technology and methodology to enhance product quality and production efficiency at ODM and CM\n- Manage product lifecycle changes, lead product quality and reliability improvement projects, and drive technical root cause for supplier defects\n- Implement and optimize manufacturing 1st pass yields and efficiency from prototype through product ramp\nLOCATION: This role is open to sit near Florence, KY, or Cincinnati, OH, and will spend most of their time at one of the Florence, KY facilities.\nAbout the team\nAnnapurna Labs is a wholly owned subsidiary of AWS, focused on developing custom silicon and servers including the Nitro(K2), Graviton, Inferentia, and Trainium families of processors.\nMachine Learning Annapurna functions as a vertically integrated team including software, firmware, hardware, and silicon design in a single organization.\nWe are the Trainium Servers and Systems organization under MLA focused on Hardware Development, Software Development, Fleet Ops Systems, and Manufacturing, Quality, and Reliability.\nThis position is in the Manufacturing, Quality and Reliability team.\nBasic qualifications\n- Master's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering, or 2+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience\n- 2+ years of Manufacturing Engineering work experience with server platforms or on high-tech hardware\n- 2+ years working with manufacturing suppliers to improve incoming quality of systems\nPreferred qualifications\n- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production\n- Experience in project management, or experience leading technical teams through daily operations and maintenance evolutions\nAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.\nOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
