If you are someone who loves problem-solving, driving continuous improvement, and leading high-performing teams, this is the role for you!\nThe Operations Manager (OM) is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing daily logistics operations, driving process improvements, ensuring safety and compliance, and leading teams to meet Amazon’s customer promise.\nAs an OM, you’ll be directly responsible for supervising a team of Shift Managers and their direct reports meanwhile, you will report to the Site Lead of your Delivery Station. \nWe're looking for candidates for our Bella Vista, Chullora and Eastern Creek Delivery Stations.\nKey job responsibilities\n- Manage and develop a team of Shift Managers and their direct reports.\n- Proxy duties for the Site Lead.\n- Review the operational forecast and determine productivity requirements the delivery station.\n- Support all safety programs to ensure a safe work environment for all associates and Delivery service providers.\n- Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives and Lean tools.\n- Analyze shift performance against relevant business objectives, and put in place actions to improve our operational excellence.\n- Manage resource (manpower) plan and oversee shifts patterns managed by direct reports including hours booking and staff holiday management.\nA day in the life\nYou will be an inspiring leader within our Delivery Stations, where you will work to continuously improve the efficiency of delivery processes, ensuring that customer orders are delivered as quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively as possible. Along with your peers, you’ll ensure that all workflows run smoothly and that customer expectations are met.\nAbout the team\nAmazon Logistics (AMZL) handles ‘last mile’ delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilize creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers’ delivery experience as smooth as possible while focusing on continuous improvement. \nThere are two sides to what we do. Our ‘under the roof’ (UTR) associates process millions of products for dispatch to our delivery teams. Meanwhile, our ‘on the road’ (OTR) people ensure the safe and timely delivery of packages to our customers.\nBasic qualifications\n- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field\n- Work with schedule flexibility to work at least one day of the weekend\n- 1+ years of employee and performance management experience\n- 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience\n- Experience hiring and developing highly effective and diverse teams.\n- Experience developing and managing a high-performing team\nPreferred qualifications\n- Experience with process improvements (Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen)\n- Experience in problem solving and delivering results\n- Experience in dealing with contingent workforce\nAcknowledgement of country:\nIn the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
