This role is the primary physical security contact for assigned sites, reporting directly to the Cluster Security Manager.\nIn this role, you will execute tactical security operations while being exposed to strategic thinking - managing day-to-day security at your sites, resolving straightforward security challenges, and learning to contribute to cluster-level goals. You will own the security posture of your assigned sites, work on forward-looking tasks, and grow your expertise within one of the world's largest cloud providers.\nWe offer comprehensive professional development and a clear growth path within a global security organization.\nKey job responsibilities\nSecurity Operations & Vendor Management\nOwn physical security operations for your assigned sites\nManage straightforward security problems and components of existing security programs\nApply established AWS security standards; resolve straightforward security problems in the absence of SOPs with input from senior management\nOversee access control systems, CCTV monitoring, guard force operations, and vendor contracts\nAssess vendor compliance, track service deliverables, and escalate corrective actions when needed; provide guidance to vendors in situations lacking SOPs\nReport on project status and vendor SLAs\nMay participate in on-call rotations Tactical Contribution, Learning & Projects\nWork on forward-looking tasks; learning to contribute to developing strategic goals for the cluster\nAdapt operational plans to straightforward, changing security scenarios\nDeliver cluster-level security operations projects\nMake trade-offs: time vs. resources\nAssist in recruitment and onboarding practices for new team members Process, Compliance & Risk Management\nContribute to risk and security management by making straightforward trade-off decisions and providing recommendations\nCreate SOPs and contribute to improvements to ensure processes remain relevant and align with team strategy\nParticipate in business continuity/resilience planning\nSupport investigative actions in collaboration with HR, Legal, global security team, and law enforcement\nConduct inspections, audits, and reviews to ensure compliance with AWS security standards and policies\nMay own post-incident correction of errors, including writing action items and resolving them\nBasic qualifications\n-\nProfessional proficiency in English (written and verbal) - this is the primary working language for the role -\nExperience in physical security operations, or equivalent (e.g., military, law enforcement, critical infrastructure protection) -\nAbility to resolve straightforward security problems and make trade-off decisions with general guidance in a timely manner -\nWorking knowledge of physical security systems (access control, CCTV, intrusion detection) -\nExperience in vendor management, including compliance tracking and escalation of corrective actions -\nFamiliarity with risk assessment and business continuity concepts -\nAbility to manage projects and deliver under defined parameters -\nClear communication skills - ability to present to senior management (up to Senior Manager level) -\nValid driver's license and own transport with a willingness to travel between sites (mileage reimbursement provided) and internationally\nPreferred qualifications\n- •Experience working in a data center, critical infrastructure, or global corporate security environment\n- •Knowledge of investigative practices and experience supporting security investigations\n- •Italian language proficiency (verbal and written) - highly valued for local stakeholder and emergency services coordination\n- •Experience creating or improving SOPs and operational procedures\n- •Ability to collaborate across teams with partner groups (engineering, operations, colocation providers)\n- •Strong cross-cultural communication abilities; experience working across diverse locales and functions\nAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
