Interns who demonstrate strong performance throughout their internship may be considered for a full-time Security Specialist position, subject to available roles and business needs. \nWho Should Apply \nWe welcome applications from: \n- Students in the last year of their Technical/Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Security Management, Criminology, or a related field who are looking for an internship that could lead to a full-time career.\nAbout the Role \nAs a Security Specialist Intern, you will work within the Data Center Security team and play a hands-on role in the day-to-day physical security operations of Amazon's data centers. You will collaborate with security vendors, analyze operational data, and help identify improvements to surveillance systems, access controls, and security procedures. \nThis is not a desk-only role. You will engage directly with the people, systems, and processes that keep Amazon's most critical infrastructure safe. \nWhat You Will Do \n- Coordinate with vendors involved in new security construction, repairs, daily security operations and patrols, and planning. \n- Analyze security metrics and data to identify trends and recommend improvements \n- Make suggestions on improving electronic surveillance systems and access controls \n- Help develop and deliver guidance to data center occupants on reducing false alarms \n- Write reports and create presentations on the status of physical security operations for management \n- Assist with planning and coordinating security-related projects \n- Support incident documentation and follow-up processes \nInternship Structure \nAmazon internships are full-time (40 hours per week) for 12 consecutive weeks. We are the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. \nYou will join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.
