You will ensure product quality meets customer specifications while maintaining ISO 9001 certification and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strong technical metrology expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with manufacturing teams and external suppliers.\nKey job responsibilities\nQuality Systems and Compliance\nMaintain and improve ISO 9001 quality management system certification\nDevelop and document quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection criteria\nConduct internal audits and support external certification audits\nDrive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes\nEnsure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards Metrology and Inspection\nProgram and operate CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) and other metrology equipment\nSet inspection criteria and sampling plans for incoming materials, in-process, and final products\nPerform first article inspections and generate detailed inspection reports\nConduct capability analysis (Cp, Cpk) to validate process performance\nExecute Gage R&R studies to ensure measurement system accuracy and repeatability Supplier Quality Management\nConduct supplier audits to assess quality systems and manufacturing capabilities\nOwn supplier quality performance and drive improvement initiatives\nReview and approve supplier first article inspection reports\nManage non-conformance issues with suppliers and implement corrective actions\nQualify new suppliers and materials Cross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with manufacturing managers to resolve quality issues and implement process improvements\nWork with production teams on root cause analysis and problem-solving\nSupport Customer Success team with quality documentation and customer inquiries\nCollaborate with engineering teams on design for manufacturability and quality requirements\nTrain production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and documentation Continuous Improvement\nLead Six Sigma projects to reduce defects and improve process capability\nAnalyze quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities\nImplement statistical process control (SPC) methods\nDrive cost of quality reduction initiatives\nBasic qualifications\n- 3+ years of quality assurance engineering experience\n- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems\n- Proficiency with CMM programming and operation\n- Experience with statistical analysis tools and methods (capability analysis, Gage R&R, SPC)\n- Demonstrated ability to create first article inspection reports\nPreferred qualifications\n- Six Sigma Green Belt, or Six Sigma Black Belt Certification\n- 5+ years of quality engineering experience in contract manufacturing or multi-process environments\n- Experience with multiple manufacturing processes (CNC machining, welding, sheet metal, additive manufacturing, coating, assembly)\n- Supplier audit and supplier quality management experience\n- Proficiency with metrology equipment beyond CMM (optical comparators, surface roughness testers, hardness testers, etc.)\n- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and blueprint reading\n- Experience with quality management software and statistical analysis tools (Minitab, JMP, or similar)\n- Strong verbal and written communication skills\nAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.\nOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
