Location: Pasadena, CA, USA\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop and optimize fabrication processes for high-coherence superconducting qubits.\nDevelop advanced 3DI interconnect and routing technologies for integrating superconducting quantum technologies.\nUse micro- and nanofabrication techniques inside the cleanroom to develop technologies for next-generation quantum processors.\nPlan experiments and analyze data outside the cleanroom;\nAnalyze inline metrology and electrical test data to evaluate and improve fabrication processes.\nDevelop and maintain integration documentation, design rules, and standard operating procedures.\nWork independently and collaboratively with scientists, engineers, and technicians.\nInteract with project leads to provide feedback that continuously improves fabrication and integration processes.\nStay current with advancements and industry trends in process integration and apply new knowledge to improve processes and drive innovation.\nProvide technical guidance and support to junior colleagues;\nContribute to a collaborative, knowledge-sharing work environment.\nManage multiple projects and tasks while maintaining effective communication and problem-solving.\nResearch and learn new technical topics as required.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or an equivalent field.\nExperience fabricating superconducting quantum circuits and/or packaging components.\nDemonstrated understanding of sound scientific and engineering principles.\nStrong data analysis and problem-solving skills;\nAbility to work independently and effectively within multidisciplinary teams.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nHigh motivation, curiosity, and willingness to learn new technical areas.\nPreferred:\nExperience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.\nExperience with semiconductor process development and micro- or nanofabrication.\nExperience working with superconducting quantum processors;\nExperience with process integration, fabrication, or quantum device packaging.\nBenefits and Compensation:\nBase salary range of $125,500 to $169,800 per year.\nSign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs) may be included in the compensation package.\nHealth insurance covering medical, dental, vision, and prescription care.\nBasic Life and AD&D insurance, with supplemental life insurance options.\nEmployee Assistance Program and mental health support;\nMedical Advice Line and Flexible Spending Accounts.\nAdoption and surrogacy reimbursement coverage.\n401(k) matching.\nPaid time off and parental leave.\nFlexible working hours and emphasis on work-life balance.\nMentorship, knowledge-sharing, and career development resources.\nOther Information:\nThe position is based at Amazon's Center for Quantum Computing in Pasadena, California.\nThe role involves both cleanroom and non-cleanroom research and development activities.\nCandidates must satisfy applicable U.S. export control requirements.
