This is an exciting opportunity to work on highly visible projects and be part of history in the making!\n The Risk Management Coordinator will:\n - Evaluate content appropriateness compliance for books submitted through Amazon.com's Kindle Direct Publishing.\n- Effectively prioritize work time to ensure productivity and fulfill team standards for time spent in order to consistently achieve service levels.\n- Identify opportunities to eliminate process redundancy. \n- Leverage technology and innovation to bring continuous improvement to the operational processes. \n- Work effectively in a cross-functional environment. \n- Candidates will be responsible for ensuring program compliance by conducting research to minimize risk to the Kindle Store. \nKey job responsibilities\nSupporting accounting and reporting processes end-to-end\n- Owning process support for finance and business partners\n- Assessing and designing internal controls for existing and emerging business activities\n- Executing judgment to close the books each month and escalating risks to leadership\n- Identifying process improvement and automation opportunities\n- Leading delivery of accounting tasks and projects\n- Enhancing partnerships between Accounting and business/IT groups\n- Researching and memorializing technical accounting position papers\nAbout the team\nAmazon Devices and Services Accounting supports one of Amazon's most dynamic business segments - spanning hardware manufacturing, digital content, subscription services, and emerging technologies (Echo, Fire TV, Kindle, Ring, and more\nBasic qualifications\n- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience\n- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field\n- Knowledge of one or multiple accounting frameworks (including US GAAP, IFRS, or local GAAP frameworks), with the ability to apply them in day-to-day financial activities\nPreferred qualifications\n- CPA\n- Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency\n- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification\n- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients\n- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions\nAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.\nLos Angeles County applicants: Job duties for this position include: work safely and cooperatively with other employees, supervisors, and staff; adhere to standards of excellence despite stressful conditions; communicate effectively and respectfully with employees, supervisors, and staff to ensure exceptional customer service; and follow all federal, state, and local laws and Company policies.
