integrations.\n\nResponsibilities: \nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python.\nBuild and enhance payment-related microservices for transaction processing, settlements, refunds, and reconciliation.\nDevelop RESTful APIs and event-driven services to support high-volume payment workflows.\nIntegrate with payment gateways, banking APIs, UPI, card networks, and third-party financial services.\nDesign microservices with high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability.\nOptimise database performance and ensure efficient transaction management.\nImplement secure authentication, authorisation, encryption, and compliance with payment security standards.\nWrite clean, reusable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.\nParticipate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.\nCollaborate with product managers, QA engineers, DevOps, and cross-functional engineering teams.\nMonitor production systems, troubleshoot issues, and improve application reliability and performance.\n\nRequirements: \nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.\nExcellent understanding of distributed systems.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced product environment.\nOwnership mindset with attention to quality and performance.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills.\nBachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related field.\n3-6 years of backend software development experience.\nStrong programming skills in Python.\nHands-on experience with frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, and Django (preferred).\nStrong understanding of microservices architecture.\nExperience designing REST APIs and asynchronous services.\nExperience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, and AWS SQS.\nStrong knowledge of SQL databases: PostgreSQL and MySQL.\nExperience with NoSQL databases: MongoDB and Redis.\nExperience with Docker and Kubernetes.\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.\nStrong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Git.\n\nMandatory Payment Domain Experience: \nCandidates should have hands-on experience with one or more of the following: Payment gateway integrations, UPI payment flows, Card payment processing, Wallet integrations, Payment authorization and capture, Refund and reversal workflows, Settlement and reconciliation systems, Transaction lifecycle management, Payment orchestration platforms, Financial ledger systems, Idempotency and distributed transaction handling, High-volume payment processing systems\n\nGood to Have: \nExperience with fintech or digital payments platforms.\nKnowledge of PCI DSS, tokenisation, encryption, and payment security best practices.\nExperience with distributed tracing, monitoring, and observability tools.\nExposure to Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Event-Driven Architecture.\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).\nFamiliarity with caching strategies using Redis.\n\nPreferred Experience: \nBuilt scalable payment microservices serving millions of transactions.\nExperience handling high-throughput, low-latency backend systems.\nExposure to payment
