Senior Technical Program Manager, WorkSpaces

The Agentic WorkSpaces team within AWS Applied AI Solutions is a fully managed desktop-in-the-cloud solution that lets organizations provide their employees with secure, accessible computing environments. The Control Plane team owns the admin experience that enables customers to onboard, create, and maintain their fleet of WorkSpaces. As a Senior Technical Program Manager III on this team, you will drive programs and projects across three engineering teams, coordinating cross-team efforts to deliver initiatives that directly improve how administrators manage their cloud desktops. You will define program strategy, align technical and business priorities, and turn ambiguity into clear plans with measurable outcomes.

Key job responsibilities

- Drive goals, programs, and projects across three engineering teams within the WorkSpaces Control Plane, setting objectives, defining success criteria, and aligning business and technical stakeholders on priorities.

- Evaluate system architectures and technical proposals to identify risks, question assumptions, and make informed trade-offs between scope, timeline, and quality in partnership with engineering leaders.

- Leverage AI tools and data-driven approaches to maximize program impact, improve visibility into program health, and proactively surface risks before they become blockers.

- Influence cross-team efforts beyond your immediate scope, building alignment and resolving dependencies to keep critical business initiatives on track.

- Author clear program narratives and status communications for senior leadership, translating complex technical details into actionable recommendations.

A day in the life

You might start your morning reviewing program metrics across your three engineering teams, then join a design review where you challenge architectural assumptions with engineers working on the WorkSpaces admin experience. After lunch, you could be facilitating an alignment discussion to resolve a cross-team dependency, followed by drafting a program update for leadership. You will regularly use AI tools to analyze data and streamline your workflows, keeping complex initiatives moving forward.

Basic qualifications

- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

- 3+ years of software development experience

- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred qualifications

- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
