As an engineer on our team, you’ll solve complex distributed systems challenges, design highly available services, and build developer experiences that make secure software the default. \nKey job responsibilities\n- Design and build highly scalable, low latency key security services used by engineering teams across the company\n- Contribute to the architecture and evolution of our encryption platform\n- Improve the developer experience through intuitive tooling, self-service capabilities, and clear interfaces\n- Maintaining and promoting a high operational excellence bar\nAbout the team\nThe Secure Ingress and Egress Team (SIEGE) owns and operates the first line of defense for Amazon's confidential customer data. We build the tools and applications that allow Earth's most customer-centric company to protect our most valuable asset - Customer Trust.\nWe build and maintain real time encryption services at Amazon scale working with security systems that bridge proxy layers, rendering applications and back-end service chains; our products impacts company-wide architectures and are used by thousands of services for protecting billions of fields per day in transit and at rest.\nBasic qualifications\n- Bachelor's degree or equivalent\n- Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems\n- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby\n- Knowledge of computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, and problem solving\nPreferred qualifications\n- Knowledge of one or more of the following domains: access-control system and methodology, network security, application- and system-development security, security architecture and models, cryptography, and operations security\n- Experience building and operating a cloud-based architecture\nAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
