You will build distributed software systems that operate across hundreds of thousands of endpoints and directly impact how employees work every day.\nThe Role:\nAs a Software Development Engineer on the Client Engineering Autonomous Fleet Management team, you will design and build systems that enable autonomous endpoint operations at scale.\nYou will work across the endpoint, cloud, data, automation, and observability layers to build capabilities such as:\n- Automated OS and application update orchestration\n- Endpoint policy and configuration management\n- Fleet health and compliance evaluation\n- Configuration and software drift detection\n- Safe rollout and deployment automation\n- Automated endpoint remediation and recovery\n- Automated incident detection, investigation, and resolution\n- Intelligent identification and remediation of endpoint failures\nYou will help evolve endpoint management from a collection of administrative tools into a software-defined, autonomous operating platform.\nKey job responsibilities\nBuild Autonomous Fleet Management Systems:\nDesign and develop highly scalable services and control-plane capabilities for endpoint policy, configuration, software, OS updates, compliance, and fleet state across a large enterprise environment.\nAutomate Endpoint Operations and Remediation:\nBuild intelligent automation that detects endpoint issues, configuration drift, and compliance gaps; determines appropriate actions; executes remediation; and verifies the endpoint has returned to the desired state.\nBuild Safe, Progressive Deployment Systems:\nDevelop rollout, canary, ring, health-gating, rollback, and recovery mechanisms that enable fleet-wide changes to be deployed safely while continuously measuring customer and endpoint impact.\nDevelop Fleet Observability and Intelligence:\nBuild telemetry, diagnostics, anomaly detection, and root-cause analysis capabilities that transform endpoint signals into actionable insights and automated operational decisions.\nEngineer Reliable, Secure, and Scalable Platforms:\nOwn production-quality software from architecture through operation, designing for scale, reliability, security, resilience, and measurable service-level objectives while contributing to the technical direction of autonomous Client Engineering.\nBasic qualifications\n- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field\n- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience\n- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience\n- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience\n- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience\n- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience\n- Experience programming with at least one software programming language\nPreferred qualifications\n- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent\n- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience\nAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.\nOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
