If you are an engineer who enjoys building products you would actually use yourself, and you want to do that at AWS scale, we would like to talk to you.\nKey job responsibilities\nDesign and build features for Amazon Lightsail's distributed systems, working in Java, Go, JavaScript, and React across both backend services and frontend experiences.\nCollaborate with partner teams across AWS - including Amazon EC2, Amazon Route 53, Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS) - to integrate Lightsail capabilities with the broader AWS ecosystem.\nOwn the operational health of the services you build by identifying root causes of production issues and driving permanent fixes, ensuring customers experience reliable performance.\nParticipate actively in design reviews and code reviews, providing constructive feedback to teammates and mentoring other engineers on writing clean, maintainable code.\nEvaluate new technologies and approaches, including generative artificial intelligence tools, to improve team productivity and the quality of solutions delivered to customers.\nA day in the life\nYou start your morning checking operational dashboards for a Lightsail service you recently launched, then join a design review where you and a teammate work through how to integrate a new hosting capability with an existing AWS service. After lunch, you pick up a feature task, writing backend logic in Java and wiring up the React console so customers can try it out. Later, you review a pull request from a teammate, leave detailed feedback, and update documentation so the next engineer who touches this code can ramp up quickly.\nAbout the team\nAmazon Lightsail sits within AWS and has a distinctive mission: make cloud infrastructure simple and approachable for non-enterprise customers.
