If you aren't already, you will become an expert in multiple AWS offerings, including Step Functions, Lambdas, Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, Cloudwatch, SNS/SQS, and others. Your work will directly impact Amazon's bottom line, with projects the team drives responsible for hundreds of millions of dollars in yearly entitlements.\nKey job responsibilities\n- Design and implement scalable software systems that generate the most optimized route\n- Participate actively in code reviews, providing meaningful feedback to team members and ensuring high-quality software delivery throughout the full development lifecycle\n- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, science, product, and technology to translate business requirements into technical solutions\n- Take operational excellence ownership by identifying root causes of issues, implementing permanent fixes, and continuously improving team processes and software quality\n- Develop and maintain fault-tolerant systems that handle the complexity and scale of Amazon's delivery optimization challenges while balancing customer requirements with technical constraints\nAbout the team\nThe Routing Platform team has three pillars: 1) building reusable components and maintaining workflows responsible for input collection for different businesses as well as the external APIs for Route Planning, 2) hosting the optimization algorithms to solve the Vehicle Routing Problem, 3) managing route lifecycle inclusive of providing a source of truth for route status and tracking route state changes.\nBasic qualifications\n- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience\n- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience\n- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience\n- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience\n- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience\n- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field\n- Experience programming with at least one software programming language\nPreferred qualifications\n- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience\n- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent\nAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.\nOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
