This leader will manage a team that develops and maintains highly scalable, highly available web services and systems at the heart of External Fulfillment technology offerings. These services support the EF business globally, through rapidly evolving and complex demands in a high-9’s availability environment.\nA day in the life\nThis leader will:\n* Work with senior leaders in EF to define product Tech strategy and roadmap\n* Lead high-quality execution of software products against project plans and delivery commitments; architect and develop the best technical designs for extensibility, reliability, and scalability\n* Build and develop a high performance software development organization by hiring, mentoring and growing a best-in-class team\n* Own all operational metrics and support\n* Work directly with development teams in Bellevue, Toronto, Bangalore, and across the globe on shared projects and dependent deliverables\nBasic qualifications\n- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations\n- Experience in engineering team management\n- Experience in engineering\n- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services\n- Experience partnering with product and program management teams\nPreferred qualifications\n- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy\n- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers\nOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
