Description
The Technical Infrastructure Program Manager(TIPM) manages the IT Infrastructure scope of a complex suite of projects and is responsible for the delivery of initiatives across business teams and operations groups within Amazon Fulfillment IT from strategy, conceptual design feasibility, requirements, budget, completed design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
As a TIPM, along with technical knowledge, we expect our leaders to interact with customers, partners and suppliers to understand our business goals and priorities, and to execute rapidly, delivering high-quality results. The candidate will be comfortable in managing remote project delivery teams, and possess the ability to facilitate technical sessions to troubleshoot issues and remove barriers to project success. The TIPM will be able to build cross-functional matrix-based teams, establish trust with a variety of stakeholders across multiple time zones, manage capital budgets, eliminate unnecessary activity, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery.
In this role, you will lead launch programs in JP and work with Regional IT Leadership, Fulfillment Operations, Amazon Logistics, and other customers in developing comprehensive plans to execute the work. The candidate will be comfortable in managing remote project delivery teams, and possess the ability to facilitate technical sessions to troubleshoot issues and remove barriers to project success.
The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator both written and verbal, in project management of technical initiatives.
Strong judgement, negotiation skills, ability to influence without authority, analytical talent and leadership are characteristics of a successful TIPM. In addition to those with infrastructure delivery experience, candidates possessing a proven success in delivery in architecture/design, mechanical/electrical engineering, software/network engineering or IT/telecom infrastructure deployments, will have a distinct advantage.
The TIPM will be familiar with a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle. They'll be able to exhibit demonstrated experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking. Other requirements include experience with MS Office, SPM, Service Now and MS Project.
Are you passionate about using technology to solve business problems that have a big customer impact
Key job responsibilities
You might begin by reviewing program health metrics and preparing a narrative update for senior leadership, then shift to a working session with engineering leads to resolve a complex technical dependency blocking a multi-site deployment. Later, you could be mentoring a junior program manager on how to structure a difficult stakeholder conversation, or contributing to your organization's annual planning process. YYou are the person others look to when programs get complex — and you thrive in that environment.
About The Team

We are a collaborative, geographically distributed team of program managers who bring both technical depth and operational rigor to every program we own. Whether you are early in your career or a seasoned program leader, you will find a team that is committed to your success and to delivering programs that matter.
