Our development portfolio is focused on automation solutions in packaging, labeling, sortation and material conveyance that provide broad extensibility across Amazon businesses.\nAt our lab in Hamme, Belgium we are looking for a Work preparator position within our production departement.\nAs a Work Preparator, you are the crucial link between the production department and cross-functional project teams. You are responsible for preparing, planning, and monitoring both internal production processes and external deliveries. You ensure seamless execution of production activities within a machining environment where processes such as turning, milling, welding, and sheet metal are applied to manufacture parts.\nKey job responsibilities\nProduction Planning & Coordination\nPlan and monitor internal production planning for machining processes (turning, milling, welding, sheet metal)\nCreate detailed production routings that provide the shop floor with correct production steps and specifications\nCoordinate with external suppliers to track delivery dates and align with project timelines\nOrder raw materials for internal production and manage inventory levels Technical Feasibility & Engineering Collaboration\nWork closely with engineers from the start of projects to assess the manufacturability of parts\nIdentify potential issues and define solutions to ensure smooth production\nTranslate technical drawings into feasible production processes based on thorough knowledge of machining techniques Project Collaboration & Communication\nRepresent the production department in multiple concurrent projects\nMonitor project planning and provide production input to keep the schedule clear for all departments\nWork closely with the project team to thoroughly prepare projects before they go into production\nProactively escalate potential bottlenecks or delivery risks Analysis & Calculations\nPerform pre-calculations of production times to support accurate project planning\nPerform post-calculations to analyze actual versus planned performance\nIdentify improvement opportunities based on production data Technical Knowledge (Essential)\nThorough knowledge of machining production processes: o CNC Turning o CNC Milling o Welding (various welding techniques) o Sheet metal\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings\nKnowledge of ERP systems (SAP experience is a strong plus)\nUnderstanding of production capacity planning and scheduling principles Internal job description\nBasic qualifications\n- Knowledge of mechanical production processes (e.g., milling, turning, welding…)\n- Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP is a plus\n- Experience in Microsoft Office\n- Communication skills in English, both verbal and written\nPreferred qualifications\n- Ability to work independently\n- Proactive approach to problem solving\n- Communication skills in Dutch, both verbal and written\nAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
