The department develops advanced AI and algorithmic solutions for Ambu’s endoscopy products and includes specialists in deep learning, image processing, and data engineering.\nYou will be Product Owner for a cross-functional Agile team consisting of AI developers, data engineers, and a Test & Verification engineer. The team participates in Ambu’s Scaled Agile Release Train, ART, and collaborates closely with other teams and stakeholders.\nThe position is based in either Ballerup, Denmark, or Augsburg, Germany. You will report to Lee Lassen, AI Manager, who is part of the Algorithms leadership organization under the Head of Algorithms.\nYour Role\nAs Product Owner, you will maximize the value delivered by the AI development team. You will translate product objectives, clinical needs, technical opportunities, and regulatory requirements into a clear and prioritized backlog.\nYou will work closely with Product Management, engineering managers, architects, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, project stakeholders, and other Product Owners across the ART.\nYour main responsibilities will include:\nOwn, prioritize, and maintain the team backlog in alignment with product priorities and ART objectives.\n\nTranslate clinical, product, technical, quality, and regulatory needs into clear features, user stories, enablers, and acceptance criteria.\n\nParticipate actively in PI Planning and support the definition and delivery of realistic, value-driven PI objectives.\n\nCoordinate priorities and dependencies with Product Management, architects, other Product Owners, Agile teams, and relevant stakeholders.\n\nGuide the cross-functional team through AI development activities spanning data preparation, model development, testing, verification, and product release.\n\nMonitor progress, risks, and dependencies while supporting design control, continuous improvement, and effective Agile ways of working.\n\nOccasional travel between Ambu sites and other development locations should be expected for up to 20 days / year.\nSuggested Candidate Profile\nYou are proactive, structured, and committed to delivering value. You enjoy working with technical specialists and can balance product, clinical, technical, regulatory, and business considerations.\nYou are likely to succeed in this position if you have:\nA relevant degree in engineering, computer science, data science, biomedical engineering, or a related technical field.\n\nExperience as a Product Owner, technical Product Manager, project lead, or in a similar product-development role.\n\nExperience with medical devices or another regulated industry, including design control, requirements, risk management, and verification.\n\nExperience with Agile development and preferably working within a Scaled Agile Framework, SAFe, organization.\n\nA good understanding of AI, machine learning, data engineering, software development, or other data-driven product development.\n\nStrong communication, stakeholder-management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to create clarity across technical and cross-functional teams.\n\nAs Ambu is a global company, fluency in English is essential.
