Working at the intersection of healthcare, technology innovation, business creation, and digital capabilities, you will help uncover and evaluate ideas that could become Ambu's next generation of products, services, and business platforms.\nCollaborating with colleagues across engineering, clinical, commercial, and innovation functions, you will engage with clinicians, researchers, hospitals, startups, and innovation ecosystems to understand unmet needs, explore technology trends, and translate insights into opportunity assessments, business cases, prototypes, and strategic recommendations.\nThis is a unique opportunity to combine technical curiosity, commercial thinking, and stakeholder engagement in a role that offers significant visibility and the chance to influence future strategic decisions. That's why this role is based in Augsburg or Ballerup and follows a hybrid working model, with three days per week in the office and two days working from home.\nKey responsibilities\nIdentify and evaluate adjacent business opportunities, changing clinical practices, unmet needs, reimbursement developments, future healthcare trends, and emerging digital technologies.\nTranslate clinical, market, and technology insights into actionable opportunity assessments, strategic recommendations, value propositions, and early-stage business cases.\nBuild relationships with clinicians, key opinion leaders, researchers, hospitals, startups, and innovation ecosystems to gain early access to emerging needs, technologies, and opportunities.\nEvaluate and mature emerging technologies and digital capabilities, including AI, machine learning, computer vision, healthcare data analytics, automation, robotics, imaging, and software-enabled medical devices, through fast prototypes and demos to make the idea tangible\nDevelop proof-of-concept solutions, innovation demonstrators, and feasibility assessments to support strategic decision-making.\nCollaborate across engineering, clinical, commercial, and innovation functions to assess customer value, market potential, competitive landscape, technical feasibility, and strategic fit.\nDrive promising opportunities through Discovery processes and decision gates, from early insight to validated recommendations and development readiness.\nSuggested candidate profile\nHave an educational background in engineering or a related technical field and be comfortable applying engineering principles to evaluate emerging technologies, technical feasibility, and future product opportunities.\nHave significant experience within medical devices, healthcare technology, software, digital health, or other innovation-driven industries, combined with practical experience working in product development, innovation, or business creation environments.\nHave demonstrated the ability to identify, evaluate, and mature new opportunities and to develop strategic recommendations, value propositions, business cases, or innovation initiatives.\nCombine strong technical understanding with commercial curiosity and an interest in how emerging technologies can create future business value.\nAre comfortable navigating complex organizations and collaborating with stakeholders across technical, clinical, commercial, and leadership functions.\nCommunicate and influence effectively across diverse audiences and can explain complex concepts in a clear and compelling way.\nBring a strong understanding of healthcare, innovation processes, and commercial considerations, supported by a master's degree or higher in engineering, medical technology, life sciences, healthcare technology, business, or a similar field.\nIdeally bring experience in one or more of the following areas: digital health, AI or machine learning, computer vision, healthcare data analytics, software-enabled medical devices, ininnovation management, product management, workflow automation, robotics, or emerging imaging technologies.\nAmbu - a visionary and international workplace where your efforts matter\nAmbu is a company that expands rapidly and has ambitious growth targets.
