Operating at the intersection of innovation, cost, technology, and supply risk, you will help bring life-saving solutions to market while influencing both near-term project delivery and long-term procurement value.\nYou will be based at Ambu’s HQ in Ballerup, Denmark, as part of Global Direct Procurement team, reporting directly to the Director of Direct Procurement.\nThe role\nAs Senior Project Sourcing Manager your primary focus will be leading the Procurement sourcing activities in a key strategic NPD initiative, ensuring the right materials, technologies, and suppliers are selected to support innovation, quality, sustainability, and robust financial outcomes.\nAlongside this, you will collaborate with our category managers and lead the category strategy implementation in the NPD project.\nYou will collaborate closely with R&D, Quality, Global Supply Chain, Operations and Finance, acting as procurement’s commercial and sourcing point of contact throughout the product lifecycle.\nKey responsibilities\nYour main responsibilities will include:\nLead end-to-end Procurement activities in a key strategic NPD initiative, from early concept through ramp-up and handover to operations.\nDrive supplier and material selection, make/buy decisions, and sourcing strategies aligned with project milestones and governance.\nLead RFI/RFQ/RFP activities for project-specific sourcing and negotiate commercial, contractual, and supply agreements.\nEnable early supplier involvement (ESI) to support design-to-cost, design-for-manufacturability, and innovation access.\nOwn and validate procurement inputs to business cases, including cost drivers, CAPEX, lead time, and lifecycle considerations, while challenging assumptions to secure competitive solutions\nProactively identify and mitigate supply, capacity, and technology risks, ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and sustainability requirements.\nContribute to selected category initiatives by supporting supplier strategy execution, consolidation, and structured handover from project to category sourcing.\nSuggested candidate profile\nSkills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you:\nA Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or similar.\n5-7 years of experience in procurement, with strong exposure to project sourcing and/or NPD environments.\nSolid experience working in cross-functional project teams, preferably with R&D and product development.\nStrong skills in supplier and material selection, cost modeling, negotiations, and contract execution.\nHands-on experience running RFI/RFQ/RFP processes, cost breakdowns, and supplier comparisons.\nStrong analytical capabilities and the ability to translate complexity into clear sourcing recommendations.\nExcellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.\nA proactive, structured, and ownership-driven mindset with strong business focus.\nAbility to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced global environment.\nExperience in additional Direct Procurement categories is considered an advantage.\nPlease note: The internal job title for this role will be Strategic Procurement Manager, Direct Procurement.\nAmbu - a visionary and international workplace where your efforts matter\nAmbu is a company that expands rapidly and has ambitious growth targets.
