By restoring the capability of our antiquated supply chains, we increase the country’s capacity to imagine and realize new systems, and make a physical world that looks very different from today.\nOverview\n\n Amca’s Designer will be responsible for continually bringing our aesthetic vision to life across every imaginable medium, using and building on a new brand system developed with our friends at Day Job. You will work closely with our Senior Designer and VP of Strategy and Business to \nWhile the work is ever-changing, you’ll help us with things like:\nConceptualizing and designing maximalist posters that capture the Amca ethos for display in our multiple offices and factories\nDesigning poster-like slide decks for customers with a degree of personalization that almost feels unbelievable\nCreating merch for our brands that captures the essence of their respective cultures, which have been built over many decades\nCreating custom marketing collateral for each of our flagship brands: physical brochures, physical objects, packing materials\nYou’re probably a good fit for this role if:\nYou are an excellent graphic designer (as a baseline)\nYou are proficient in Adobe Suite and Figma\nYou feel like more designers need to play with the medium in which they express their ideas, rather than constraining themselves to just one\nYou believe you cannot separate aesthetics from function\nYou feel that 99% of contemporary graphic design is bad, but >50% of graphic design from the 1950s-70s is good\nYou see design as the art of shaping experience in totality, rather than simply creating visual assets\nYou’re comfortable with campaign conceptualization, not just design itself\nYou’re comfortable operationalizing your ideas (sourcing suppliers, external partners) when they require additional help\nYou can work with time pressure across multiple projects, and make thoughtful trade-offs to meet external deadlines\nYou get bonus points if:\nYou can spin up webpages yourself without the help of a web developer, whether because you can code yourself or because you’re good at using AI tools\nYou know your way around Blender, Cinema4D or Maya\nYou have illustration chops\nThis role is in-person in our new, Charlap Hyman & Herrero designed office and factory in El Segundo, in the heart of Southern California’s aviation industry. \nCome help us breathe new life into an industry that used to represent humanity’s boldest ambitions.
