By restoring the capability of our antiquated supply chains, we increase the country’s capacity to imagine and realize new systems, and make a physical world that looks very different from today.\nOverview:\nYou will take electrical products from concept to flight qualification. Your primary function will be to expand Amca's product catalog by designing new aerospace hardware and working closely with build and test engineers to bring your products to life.\nResponsibilities:\nOwn design and prototyping of new electrical hardware\nWork with customers to understand end-use applications and challenge requirements as needed\n\nTake full ownership of electrical design for flight hardware, including electrical schematic creation, electrical analysis, component selection, de-rating, and PCBA layout\n\nOwn the prototype and bring-up of early revision hardware and rapidly iterate to finalize designs, including bench testing and basic functional and development tests.\n\nWork with test engineering to define and execute qualification plans including functional and environmental testing\n\nWork with build engineers to ensure new designs are manufacturable at supply chain or production facilities and DFM feedback is implemented\n\nManage drawing revisions, BOM structure, and part configuration in accordance with aerospace standards and internal design controls\n\nContinue to iterate on Amca designs to ensure they are fully optimized for reliability and cost\n\nSupport Amca with factory diligence and company development\nEvaluate product catalogs and help determine where largest opportunities lie for catalog expansion\n\nAssist in the evaluation of factory design, manufacturing, and test capabilities\n\nMentor early career electrical engineers\n\nAssist with recruiting electrical engineers and building the electrical engineering team at Amca\n\nQualifications:\nExperience with electrical design, applying first-principles thinking to power, filtering, logic, software/firmware, and production constraints.\n\nExperience in electrical schematic layout, component selection, and simulation to meet customer requirements.\n\nComfortable with hands-on debugging using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.\n\nExceptionally curious and fast learner; able to contribute across diverse part categories and manufacturing processes.\n\nDemonstrated ability to use engineering first principles to challenge and simplify requirements.\n\nHands-on and practical-comfortable building, testing, and troubleshooting in real-world environments.\n\nIndependent and creative; thrives with ownership and minimal oversight.\n\nPlus: familiarity with DO-160, MIL-STD, or other qualification and certification frameworks\n\nAnnual Salary Range\n$105,000—$135,000 USD\nThis position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
