The critical responsibilities of this role are as follows:\nLead NA BG Shared Services financial reporting and accounting functions supporting 3 BG’s by ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP and Amcor policies \nManage the accounting, budgeting, and forecasting for Significant Items and Restructuring programs including monthly actual and forecast reporting to corporate\nExecute balance sheet reviews and coordinate monthly tracking of risks and opportunities\nSupport the annual strategic and operating plans, monthly forecasting, and actual reporting cycles while ensuring ensure compliance with internal controls and adherence to corporate deadlines\nStreamline processes for establishing, measuring and delivering upon BG financial objectives; deliver information and analysis to support proactive management decision making\nLead team of 7 direct/indirect reports; provide functional leadership by fostering teamwork, providing coaching and developing team members\nAct as a change agent within RPS finance community identifying and driving best practices\nAssist with special project activities including complex technical accounting matters, M&A activities, business improvement projects, restructuring programs, working capital initiatives, etc.\nEssential Responsibilities and Duties: \nFinancial Reporting & General Accounting:\nOversee Financial Reporting team including capital accounting team, ensuring proper recording for all costs, depreciation and creation of fixed assets; tooling and dunnage amortization, and financial planning and analysis for the shared services group\nOversee General Ledger Accounting team including journal entries preparation and account reconciliation processes supporting approximately 23 locations\nReview and Approve Journal Entries and Account Reconciliations while ensuring integrity and accuracy of financial results\nManage preparation and validation of management reports and presentation materials for monthly / quarterly reporting, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR’s), Supplemental Reports (SPR’s), Quality of Earnings, Strategic Risk Assessments and similar\nPartner with BU management and other stakeholders to meet their information needs and accomplish reporting objectives\nSupport the development and execution of the BG requirements relating to the annual budget and strategic plan processes as well as monthly forecast\nLead and continuously improve the monthly closing, consolidation and reporting cycle\nDevelop and deliver management financial and operational performance reporting\nOversee the administration of the SAP-BPC Financial Consolidation system used for the company’s monthly reporting, operating plan and strategic plan.\nCoordinate with Amcor Group Tax on Completion of ARP BG consolidated tax reporting requirements\nCollaborate with Corporate on technical accounting matters to obtain alignment on technical accounting conclusions as necessary \nFinancial Management:\nDrive outperformance planning, financial initiatives and best practice implementation across BU’s and functions\nEnsure all aspects of sound fiscal management of the BG operations, incorporating treasury and cash flow management and financial planning\nIdentify and drive best practices, promoting the implementation of new requirements and process improvements\nBenchmark financial metrics and identify opportunities to improve performance.\nSupport the implementation of new business processes, systems, policies, and procedures.\nInternal Controls and Compliance:\nOversee direct/indirect team internal controls / SOX processes and compliance activities\nEnsure compliance with the policies and procedures of ARP BG, Amcor, US GAAP and applicable local statutory/regulatory requirements.\nSupport the design, implementation and continuous enhancement of internal control processes\nSupport external audit engagement review and related activities related to Amcor’s quarterly reporting periods and statutory close requirements\nCommunicate key compliance findings and recommendations to the BG Controller and relevant stakeholders.\nTeam Leadership & Talent Development:\nLead, manage and develop team of accounting and reporting professionals team members\nAttract, retain, engage, motivate and develop bench strength within the team to enable internal promotion and transfer as opportunities arise\nQualifications: \nEducation:\nMinimum undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance\nProfessional accreditation preferred (CPA, CA or similar)\nExperience:\n10 years of accounting and reporting experience in an international environment; experience; experience with SEC reporting and manufacturing strongly preferred\nExperience leading and managing a team of direct and indirect professionals\nStrong technical knowledge of US GAAP accounting and tax;
