Job Overview\nResponsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance operations of injection molding equipment on a shift. This role serves as the technical expert on the maintenance team, providing hands-on support in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues. The Lead Tech ensures that all equipment is maintained in optical condition to support continuous production and minimize downtime.\nIn addition to performing complex maintenance tasks, the Lead Maintenance Technician coordinates work assignments, mentors’ junior technicians, and ensures compliance with safety protocols and preventatives maintenance schedules. This position plays a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, supporting process improvements, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability within the maintenance team.\n2. Accountabilities\n3.1. Key Functions\nLead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.\nWork with Maintenance Manager to effectively provide appropriate procedures to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.\nTroubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and perform necessary repairs.\nCoordinate with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize machines’ performance.\nMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts inventory, and equipment history.\nTrain and mentor maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and knowledge.\nEnsure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment.\nIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance processes and equipment performance.\nAssist with managing spare parts inventory, ensuring availability of critical components.\nCollaborate with external vendors and service providers as needed.\n3.2. Responsibilities\nFollow and support all Company Safety, GMP, HACCP policies.\nFollow and support all Company ISO, QMS and QSI policies.\nMaintain the highest quality of services rendered.\nMaintain good housekeeping in the shop and on the plant floor.\nAll other duties as assigned.\n4. Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED equivalency; technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, or related field preferred.\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in injection molding maintenance.\nStrong knowledge of injection molding machines, robotics, and auxiliary equipment.\nProficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical,electrical, and hydraulic systems.\nStrong organizational and communication abilities.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.\nCommitment to safety and quality standards.\n5. Physical Requirements\nStanding and Walking: Extended periods (Up to 12 hours per shift) on concrete floors in a fast-paced production environment.\nLifting and Carrying: Up to 50lbs safely with the frequency of at least 10 times per shift, and 25lbs regularly.\nPushing and Pulling: Carts, bins, and pallets using approximately 75lbs of force with the frequency of at least 10 times per shift.\nBending, Stooping, Kneeling: As needed to access materials and operate equipment in a regular frequency.\nClimbing and Reaching: Using ladders or steps and reaching overhead or below waist level to load/unload materials with occassional frequency.\nMobility and Coordination: safely navigate equipment, production areas and storage zones with good balance and coordination. Occasional need to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.\nAbility to view objects in the distance, near, and peripheral as well as depth perception.\nEnvironmental Exposure: Work involves exposure to heat and humidity. May also be exposed to plastic, ink and cleaning chemical fumes.
