This position is directly responsible for worker compliance with established safety, quality, quantity and housekeeping.\nEssential Functions and Responsibilities:\nResponsible for interpretation of and adherence to production work orders\nMaintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment\nReports any process and equipment problems\nAssists in training production assistants\nOrganizes work for smooth operations\nResponsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety and housekeeping on assigned lines\nAdherence to company policies and procedures\nResponsible for assuring order set-ups, product quality checks and equipment set-ups are done in line with specifications\nResponsible for ensuring scrap goals on assigned lines are met\nAssist the Maintenance Technicians during breakdowns to minimize downtimes\nReport malfunctions or unsafe working conditions to the Sr. Operator or Supervisor\nUnderstand and actively participate in the company’s EHS policy, goals, and objectives\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, order forms, travelers and checklists\nAbility to speak effectively with Managers, co-workers or before groups of co-workers, Supervisors or others within the company\nMandatory participation of safety programs and training\nAttend meetings as scheduled\nWear mandatory assigned Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.)\nBe a team player with a positive attitude and work well with others\nPossess good written and verbal communications skills\nKnow and understand the importance of safety, quality, housekeeping and teamwork\nDependable and flexible when work is required in other facets of production\nTo ask questions to prevent errors or clarification\nCan work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment\nSafety Commitment: \nTakes reasonable care for their own health and safety\nTakes reasonable care for the health and safety of others\nAuthorized to stop work when a perceived unsafe condition or behavior may result in an unwanted event\nUnderstands and actively participates in the company’s EHS policy, goals, and objectives\nQualifications & Requirements: \nRequires overall knowledge and experience of extruders, recycling procedures and profiles of resins and their properties\nMust be able to work rotating 12-hour shift including holidays and weekends\nMust be able to bend, twist, and rotate body at all times\nEssential Physical Requirements: \nEmployees in this job is required to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally (less than 1/3 of time); and up to 35 pounds of force frequently (more than 1/3 of the total time); if over 50 lbs, requires a team lift or mechanical aid such as a roll lift or forklift.\nMust be able to stand for 12 hours\nMust be able to bend, twist, and rotate body at all times\nReaching with hands and arms for as much as 100% of workday\nTalking to communicate with others\nHearing to communicate with others and respond to manufacturing and PIT equipment sounds\nUsing arms to grasp, handle, and type\nWalking to operate production machines and to package and palletize finished product\nWork Environment: \nThis position requires that the employee be able to work:\nOutdoors - 1/3 of the time or less\nNear moving mechanical parts - Over 2/3 of the time\nHigh or precarious places - 1/3 of the time or less\nNear electrical components - 1/3 of the time or less\nNear vibrating equipment and tools - 1/3 of the time or less\nFumes from equipment or airborne particles - 1/3 of the time or less\nToxic or caustic chemicals - 1/3 of the time or less\nExtreme heat (non-weather) - 1/3 of the time or less\nExtreme cold (non-weather) - None\nWet or humid conditions (non-weather) - 1/3 of the time or less\nLoud environments (equipment operation) - 1/3 of the time or less\nLanguage Skills:\nMust be able to read and write in English\nEducation:\nHigh School diploma or GED preferred\nNote: This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee holding this position.\nOur Expectations\nWe expect our people to be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate our Values every day to enable the business to win.
