This role supports both internal and external freight operations through effective use of TMS/JDE systems, transportation optimization, carrier collaboration, freight audit resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position serves as a key liaison between logistics, customer service, procurement, shipping, sales support, and carrier partners to ensure proactive communication, operational efficiency, inventory optimization, and cost-effective transportation execution.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nTransportation Planning & Execution\nSupport transportation planning activities across assigned locations as required.\nExecute daily load planning activities for IM, LTL, and TL shipments.\nResponsible for routing and planning all freight movements.\nOptimize daily transportation plans through load consolidation and network efficiencies.\nMonitor shipment status and provide timely updates regarding priority issues, service disruptions, and customer requests.\nRespond to inquiries within assigned group email inboxes and communication channels.\nNavigate open orders, supply and demand requirements, and internal production needs to maintain accurate supply levels.\nMaintain a clear understanding of inventory levels including safety stock, replenishment needs, and requested demand for assigned items.\nMonitor and maintain effective inventory levels on assigned transfer items.\nSupport transportation capacity planning and carrier coordination activities.\nCarrier & Cross-Functional Coordination\nServe as liaison between logistics, customer service, procurement, sales support, shipping, and carrier partners to drive strong operational processes and proactive communication.\nAssist in resolving carrier service failures, TICs, damage claims, and operational issues as required\nCollaborate with shipping leadership teams to identify root causes and corrective actions related to logistics and transportation opportunities.\nSupport carrier development initiatives and carrier performance improvement efforts.\nFreight Pay, Audit & Claims Management\nReview and resolve unmatched invoices, invoice exceptions, and accessorial requests as required by our audit procedures.\nReview carrier billing inquiries, contract disputes, and freight payment discrepancies as requested.\nReview deduction ledgers related to logistics issues and file TICs as necessary.\nEvaluate incoming freight claim requests and manage the full claims process through resolution.\nCollect and coordinate all documentation required to properly file freight claims according to industry standards.\nFile and manage freight claims with carriers within assigned regions.\nCoordinate return of damaged product to assigned facilities when necessary.\nAct as liaison with TMS providers and carriers regarding financial inquiries and invoice resolution.\nundefined\nContinuous Improvement & Analytics\nIdentify operational and financial improvement opportunities that drive greater efficiencies and lower transportation costs.\nExecute projects that improve transportation efficiency, freight optimization, and cost savings.\nReview and implement process changes to maintain current and effective operating procedures.\nEstablish and monitor KPIs that support continuous improvement related to operational and financial performance.\nAnalyze transportation, freight payment, and service data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.\nSupport freight market reporting and transportation analytics activities within assigned regions.\nSupport onboarding and training activities for new hires and team members as required.\nPerform additional duties and special projects as assigned by leadership.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree or closely related equivalent experience required. 2-3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, freight audit/pay, or supply chain operations required.\nKnowledge of LTL/TL pricing structures and transportation operations.\nExperience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) required.\nExperience with BluJay/TMC systems preferred.\nProficiency in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting operational and financial data.\nJDE, Cognos, and Tableau experience preferred.\nStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related Office applications.\nEffective communication skills with both internal and external customers.\nExperience managing freight claims, invoice discrepancies, and carrier financial processes preferred.\nCOMPETENCIES\nProven analytical and problem-solving skills.\nStrong understanding of the impact of logistics decisions on total business costs.\nExcellent attention to detail and organizational skills.\nStrong systems knowledge including ERP, TMS, BOM, and customer data systems.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills.\nAbility to analyze and manipulate complex technical and operational data to provide meaningful business insights.\nStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nAbility to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced logistics environment.\nAbility to lead and influence within a matrix organization.\nOur Expectations\nWe expect our people to be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate our Values every day to enable the business to win.
