Responsible for the strategic coordination of injection maintenance activities, mold changeovers, process startup, and advanced troubleshooting of servo-hydraulic injection systems, hot runner technologies, and mold tooling platforms.\nEssential Responsibilities and Duties: \nProvide advanced technical oversight of Husky GLine / HyPET injection molding platforms, including:\nInjection unit performance optimization\n\nClamp system mechanics and tie-bar stretch monitoring\n\nServo-hydraulic drive systems\n\nValve-gated hot runner technology\n\nMold cooling and thermal management systems\n\nAutomated part handling robotics and downstream equipment\n\nAct as the subject matter expert (SME) for Husky machine functionality, diagnostics, and system integration.\n\nLead technical troubleshooting of complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and process-related issues affecting machine performance and product quality.\n\nSpecific Responsibilities/Essential Functions\nOptimize critical injection parameters to maintain stable production including:\nInjection velocity and pressure profile\nScrew recovery and plasticizing performance\nHold pressure and pack profiles\nMold temperature and cooling efficiency\nCycle time optimization\nDiagnose and correct process-related defects including:\nPreform dimensional variation\nGate imbalance\nShort shots\nFlashing\nCrystallinity or cooling defects\nUtilize statistical process control systems (RealSPC) and production analytics to ensure consistent process capability.\nAdvanced Mold Changeovers & System Setup:\nLead and coordinate complex mold changeovers on Husky injection systems, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid production startup.\nKey technical responsibilities include:\nMold installation and precision alignment\nHydraulic, pneumatic, and cooling system integration\nHot runner electrical interface verification\nValve gate system calibration\nRobot EOAT (End-of-Arm Tooling) setup\nMold protection configuration and validation\nEnsure all systems are verified prior to production startup through machine diagnostics and process validation checks.\nEquipment Reliability & Predictive Maintenance\nDevelop and implement predictive and preventative maintenance strategies for injection molding equipment and auxiliary systems.\nOversee maintenance programs for:\nInjection screws and barrels\nServo-hydraulic pumps and valves\nClamp assemblies and lubrication systems\nHot runner systems and temperature controllers\nCooling manifolds and mold temperature control units\nRobotics and automation interfaces\nUtilize SAP maintenance systems, FMS monitoring platforms, and machine diagnostics to track equipment performance and maintenance history.\nTroubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis\nLead advanced troubleshooting efforts involving:\nHydraulic pressure instability\nServo drive faults\nInjection unit wear or degradation\nMold cooling inefficiencies\nValve gate malfunctions\nElectrical or PLC communication faults\nPerform root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.\nProduction Integration & Data Systems\nMonitor and analyze production performance through systems such as:\nFactory Management Systems (FMS)\nRealSPC statistical monitoring\nSAP production and maintenance reporting\nEvaluate performance metrics including:\nMachine uptime\nOverall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)\nScrap and defect rates\nCycle time efficiency\nProvide recommendations for process and equipment improvements based on production data.\nTechnical Leadership & Workforce Development\nProvide mentorship and technical training to:\nMaintenance technicians\nSetup technicians\nInjection operators\nTraining focus areas include:\nHusky system diagnostics\n\nInjection process fundamentals\n\nMechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting\n\nMold handling and changeover best practices\n\nEducation, Skills & Experience:\nEducation: High School Diploma or GED. Some post-secondary education preferred (i.e., Technical or Vocational education in millwright, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics or industrial maintenance is highly preferred).\n\nMinimum of five years of experience working with high-speed injection molding equipment, preferably Husky PET injection molding systems.\n\nDemonstrated maintenance & technical skills:\n\nAbility to lead by example, and effective communication skills\n\nAnalytical problem-solving skills (DMAIC)\n\nGood display of interpersonal skills and ability to interact with others in a professional and tactful manner.\n\nSAP, Basic computer skills (Microsoft office)\n\nPay Transparency Statement - Compensation\nThe starting salary for this position is expected to be between $45.00 per hour to $49.00 per hour, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages, and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location.
