The Lead position is an additional responsibility added on to an employee’s normally assigned position. The Lead assigns specific job functions that go beyond a team member’s normal position requirements. Shift: 12 hours, 2-2-3 schedule\nYour Role in Unpacking Possibilities\nKey accountabilities and tasks for this role\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nLeads the injection team members assigned to the shift and is the first point of contact for operators.\nEnsures operations are completed in accordance with Amcor Rigid Plastics USA Inc. safety procedures and ensures team members are working in a safe manner and identifies and corrects unsafe work practices.\nEnsures plant quality standards are being met and maintained by the department.\nControls the process of multiple injection machines using written work instructions, visual management, and computer interface.\nEvaluates and improves operator’s skill level and assist in training operators.\nTroubleshoots and performs adjustments to the machines to correct improper functions.\nAssists with new machine setups.\nPerforms preventive maintenance on machines.\nReviews process data daily to ensure department is meeting or exceeding efficiency requirements.\nCompletes downtime reports and error logs.\nEffectively communicates issues to the shift supervisor, maintenance technicians and operations manager.\nOperates machines and completes all duties of the machine operator in their absence.\nProvides coverage for operator breaks.\nEnsures the department maintains a clean work environment.\nAdditional duties will be assigned by Operations Manager or Shift Supervisor as business changes require.\nWhat We Value\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities/Behaviours\nUnderstands and lives the Amcor Values.\nContributes to the practical planning of work processes.\nSets the right priorities to complete assigned tasks.\nContributes with their actions to providing high quality services or products for their (internal and/or external customers.\nExtracts lessons learned from failures and mistakes.\nWelcomes input from others to develop and implement creative ideas.\nIs open and seeks direct feedback.\nProvides feedback to others and shares own learnings as well as success stories.\nDemonstrates a willingness to get things done and to take responsibility.\nWhat We Want From You\nEducation & experience required/desired for the role\nHigh School Diploma or GED; and related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred\nExcellent computer knowledge\nTeam player\nStrong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize work tasks\nAbility to communicate well on all levels and good interpersonal skills required\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
