This role ensures tooling availability, preventive maintenance scheduling, repair coordination, and inventory management to support production, quality, and customer requirements. The Tooling Planner works closely with Maintenance, Quality, Scheduling, and external tooling vendors to maximize tool performance and minimize downtime.\nKey Responsibilities\nTooling Planning & Coordination\nDevelop and maintain tooling schedules to support production requirements.\nCoordinate mold preventive maintenance activities.\nTrack tooling status from design through production launch.\nPrioritize tooling repairs and maintenance based on production needs.\nMonitor tooling capacity and identify constraints that could impact production schedules.\nPreventive Maintenance Management\nSchedule and track preventive maintenance for injection molds and related tooling.\nMaintain mold maintenance records and documentation.\nCoordinate tooling inspections and ensure required maintenance activities are completed on schedule.\nAnalyze maintenance history to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements.\nVendor and Supplier Coordination\nServe as the primary contact for external mold shops and tooling suppliers.\nObtain repair and modification quotes.\nTrack vendor performance, lead times, and tooling delivery schedules.\nCoordinate shipping and receiving of molds and tooling assets.\nInventory & Documentation Control\nMaintain tooling inventory databases and asset records.\nEnsure all tooling documentation, drawings, maintenance logs, and engineering changes are current.\nManage tooling identification and storage systems.\nGenerate reports on tooling availability, maintenance compliance, and utilization.\nContinuous Improvement\nAnalyze tooling downtime and maintenance trends.\nRecommend improvements to tooling reliability and mold performance.\nParticipate in root cause investigations for tooling-related defects or downtime.\nSupport lean manufacturing and cost-reduction initiatives.\nQualifications\nEducation\nAssociate's degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Business, or related field preferred.\nEquivalent combination of education and manufacturing experience may be considered.\nExperience\n3+ years of experience in production planning, or manufacturing operations.\nExperience with mold maintenance programs and tooling lifecycle management preferred.\nExperience working with ERP/MRP systems.\nTechnical Knowledge\nUnderstanding of injection molding processes and mold construction.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.\nExperience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Plex, IQMS, or similar systems.\nSkills & Competencies\nStrong organizational and scheduling skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nDetail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and follow-through.\nAbility to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to walk throughout manufacturing facilities.\nAbility to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)\nTooling preventive maintenance compliance rate.\nMold downtime reduction.\nTooling readiness for production schedules.\nOn-time completion of tooling repairs and modifications.\nTooling-related scrap and quality reductions.\nVendor delivery performance.\nTooling cost control and budget adherence.\nOur Expectations\nWe expect our people to be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate our Values every day to enable the business to win.
