The successful candidate will design, implement, operate, and continuously improve security controls across cloud, identity, endpoint, network, and business application platforms. This is a hands-on senior role requiring strong technical judgement, effective incident leadership, and the ability to partner with IT, engineering, risk, and business teams.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, implement, and maintain security controls across cloud, identity, endpoint, network, email, and SaaS environments.\n\nLead technical investigation, containment, remediation, and post-incident review for security events and incidents.\n\nEngineer and optimise security platforms, including SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management, identity security, secure email, and cloud-native security tooling.\n\nDevelop detection rules, automation, playbooks, dashboards, and actionable security metrics.\n\nConduct vulnerability assessments, prioritise remediation based on risk, and partner with system owners to resolve findings.\n\nReview solution designs and changes for security risks, recommending practical controls aligned with business needs.\n\nSupport identity and access management, privileged access management, Zero Trust, conditional access, and least-privilege initiatives.\n\nContribute to security architecture, standards, procedures, technical documentation, and control assurance activities.\n\nWork with third parties and internal stakeholders to assess technical security risks and validate remediation.\n\nMentor engineers and analysts, provide technical guidance, and promote secure engineering practices.\n\nParticipate in an on-call or incident escalation rota where required.\n\nRequired Experience and Qualifications\nTypically 5+ years of experience in cyber security engineering, security operations, infrastructure security, or a closely related discipline.\n\nDemonstrable experience implementing and operating enterprise security technologies in complex or distributed environments.\n\nStrong knowledge of cloud security, preferably Microsoft Azure, including identity, logging, workload protection, and configuration management.\n\nExperience with Enterprise level EDR/MDR solutions\n\nSound understanding of networking, Windows and Linux security, authentication protocols, APIs, scripting, and modern application architectures.\n\nExperience with incident response, threat analysis, vulnerability management, and security monitoring.\n\nWorking knowledge of recognised frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, and MITRE ATT&CK.\n\nAbility to communicate technical risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nRelevant degree or equivalent professional experience.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nProfessional certification such as CISSP, CCSP, GCIH, GCIA, OSCP, Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect, or equivalent.\n\nExperience with infrastructure as code, DevSecOps, CI/CD security, container security, or security orchestration and automation.\n\nProficiency in PowerShell, Python, KQL, or another relevant scripting and query language.\n\nExperience supporting security assessments, audits, penetration tests, or regulatory compliance programmes.\n\nKnowledge of data protection, secure software development, and third-party security risk.\n\nCore Competencies\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capability.\n\nPragmatic, risk-based decision-making with a focus on measurable outcomes.\n\nClear written and verbal communication and strong stakeholder management.\n\nAbility to manage competing priorities and operate effectively during security incidents.\n\nHigh standards of integrity, ownership, collaboration, and attention to detail.\n\nCommitment to continuous learning and improvement.\n\nWhat We Offer\nFlexible and hybrid working options\n\nCareer development and learning opportunities\n\nGlobal collaboration and exposure\n\nEmployee wellness and support programs\n\nThe opportunity to help build a more sustainable future\n\nReady to Make an Impact?\nAt AMCS, your work helps businesses operate more efficiently while contributing to a more sustainable future.
