This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working across technical boundaries, and growing toward broader chip-level leadership.\nTHE PERSON\nYou are a technically versatile engineer with deep expertise in one or more semiconductor domains and a broad understanding of chip development. You thrive in ambiguous environments, are proactive and collaborative, and can influence technical decisions across teams.\nYou balance technical depth with system-level thinking and enjoy working across organizational boundaries to deliver successful silicon products.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nLead and contribute to chip development from architecture through production.\nProvide technical leadership across multiple phases of the silicon development lifecycle.\nDrive technical decisions and resolve complex engineering challenges.\nPartner with chip leads and program managers on execution, planning, dependencies, and risk mitigation.\nCollaborate across architecture, RTL, verification, physical design, validation, software, packaging, and manufacturing teams.\nInterface with customers, foundries, IP vendors, and EDA partners as needed.\nDrive alignment across stakeholders and contribute to continuous improvement of design methodologies and engineering processes.\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE\nStrong ASIC/SoC development experience across multiple areas, such as architecture, RTL, verification, physical design, power, packaging, silicon validation, manufacturing, and production ramp.\nDeep expertise in one or more semiconductor disciplines with broad knowledge of the end-to-end chip development lifecycle.\nStrong understanding of SoC architecture, RTL design and synthesis, verification, timing closure, power optimization, DFT, silicon bring-up, and manufacturing processes.\nProficiency with Verilog, VHDL, and/or SystemVerilog.\nExperience with industry-standard ASIC design methodologies and EDA tools.\nStrong technical problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.\nAbility to influence stakeholders and drive results without formal authority.\nExperience working effectively in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.\nExperience with advanced process nodes, including 7nm and below, preferred.\nExposure to CPU, GPU, FPGA, AI/ML accelerators, and/or networking devices is a plus.\nPrevious technical leadership or mentoring experience preferred.\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.\nMaster’s degree preferred.\nLOCATION\nSanta Clara, CA\nThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
