You are comfortable driving architectural trade-offs across storage, networking, compute, and software layers, and you have practical experience optimizing systems using knowledge of modern CPU and memory architecture. document decisions and guide engineering teams through execution.\nEvaluate new technologies across databases, cloud platforms, distributed systems, and HPC infrastructure to improve platform capability and efficiency.\nGood level of English, both written and spoken\nAbility to travel, circa 20% including international travel within Asia, Europe and North America\nREQUIRED EXPERIENCE\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.\n8+ years of experience in solution architecture, software architecture, platform engineering, or senior engineering roles with ownership of production systems.\nStrong experience designing database and data platform architecture in enterprise-scale or distributed environments.\nDeep knowledge of database technologies including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, data warehouse/lakehouse platforms, and related storage architectures.\nExpertise in data modeling, query optimization, indexing, partitioning, replication, high availability, backup/recovery, and database performance troubleshooting.\nStrong experience with cloud architecture on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, including managed data services, networking, security, Kubernetes, containers, and infrastructure automation.\nExperience designing hybrid or multi-cloud data platforms with attention to resiliency, governance, and data movement across environments.\nStrong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, consistency, asynchronous processing, and service-oriented or event-driven architectures.\nPractical understanding of server CPU architecture and system performance, including x86-64 platforms, memory hierarchy, cache behavior, thread scaling, and bottleneck analysis.\nExperience using profiling, benchmarking, and observability tools to improve system and database performance in production environments.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering, infrastructure, product, and leadership teams.\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE\nExperience with AMD EPYC™ processors, CPU-aware workload optimization, or tuning for memory-intensive and compute-intensive server workloads.\nExperience with distributed compute systems, low-latency platforms, or large-scale data processing environments.\nFamiliarity with cloud cost optimization, workload rightsizing, and performance-per-dollar analysis.\nExperience with streaming and large-scale data processing technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Flink, Delta Lake, Iceberg, or similar.\nExperience with vector databases, retrieval systems, and data platforms supporting AI/ML workloads.\nKnowledge of data governance, privacy, compliance, and enterprise data security practices.\nFamiliarity with C++, Rust, or other systems languages for performance-sensitive software components.\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline preferred.\nLOCATION\nTaiwan with ability to travel internationally, circa 20% within Asia, Europe and North America\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
