This position includes test planning, pattern conversion, characterization/debug and data analysis. In this role you will be interacting with Design and Platform Engineering and allows for test enhancement feedback for future designs. In this key role, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of structural tests starting with EVT(engineering validation test) builds to find SMT (surface mount testing), PCB, and component issues. You will work closely with PCB designers, tester vendors, fixture houses and CMs to enable the process.\nThe Person:\nThe ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a global environment, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, and independently leading key initiatives with strong communication and ownership.\nResponsibilities :\nDrive structural test coverage simulation and analysis from AOI, AXI, to ICT\nOptimize the structural test plan to find SMT, PCB, and component issues earlier.\nDevelop test strategy for new product features including identification, specification, design and qualification of test fixtures, test equipment and diagnostic software.\nReview and provide feedback for DFT in the early design stages.\nDebug complex hardware and software issues during build phases.\nContribute to automated diagnostic generation and validation infrastructure.\nSupport the development of test content and solutions in Python.\nInvestigate and introduce new manufacturing test technology and methodology to improve production efficiency.\nDefine ICT (integrated circuit technology) capability, HW design requirements, and board debug capabilities from design review phase, NPI bring-up to mass production phase.\nCoordinate test fixtures/platform automation with suppliers, CMs, and global team.\nWork with board designers, layout engineers, tester vendors, and fixture houses by providing detailed DFM (design for manufacturing) and guidance to meet ICT requirements.\nContribute to our automated validation infrastructure.\nMay provide technical supervision or mentoring junior engineers.\nInfluences others as a technical leader.\nDevelop and maintain effective working relationship with other departments.\nPreferred Experience :\nExperience with a scripting language (Perl, Ruby, shell script, or similar).\nProficiency in Unix/Linux environments\nSolid Knowledge of IPMI, PCIE, BMC, and Thermal Solutions.\nKnowledge of at-speed testing, test insertion and test coverage assessment, test pattern development, fault simulation, debug, verification, designing and conducting experiments/tool evaluations.\nAbility to build and deploy generic DFT flows\nFamiliarity with IEEE standards such as 1500, 1149.1, 1687 and 1838\nExperience in ICT development capability, HW design understanding, board debug capabilities. and structured test understanding.\nExperience in ICT fixture/tester setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.\nGood knowledge of board manufacturing flow, PCB/fixture design, proven program management capability, experience and results.\nDebug experience in hardware, software, device, and/or manufacturing domains.\nExperience in XP, AGILE, Scrum, or Kanban as Scrum Master or Product Owner.\nExperience with revision control (GIT, SVN, CVS, RCS or similar).\nExperience with C++, Java, C, or C#.\nFamiliar with JTAG IEEE 1149.1 specifications\nEducation :\nBS Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering (MS preferred)\nThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
