You will shape both what we build and how we build it.\nTHE PERSON:\n\nAn AI-native builder and broad generalist who ships by directing AI agents, knows when an idea plays to hardware strengths, and is credible with executives and partners alike.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIE:\n\nFind and prioritize new AI software opportunities and decide quickly which to pursue or stop.\n\nPersonally build prototypes using agentic development workflows.\n\nSet technical direction and mentor senior engineers.\n\nPartner closely with key industry and AI partners on joint technical work.\n\nBring proven agentic practices into the broader organization.\n\nAdvise leadership on where AI software is heading and what it means for AMD.\n\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE\n\n:\n\nBroad track record of shipping software across products, domains and layers of the stack.\n\nDeep, current, hands-on fluency with AI coding agents and agentic workflows.\n\nHardware understanding from system level toward the metal: how CPU, GPU and NPU architecture, memory, power and thermals shape software, with the ability to go deeper when performance demands it.\n\nInfluence with senior executives and external partners.\n\nBonus: open source, publications or patents; graphics, gaming or client platform experience.\n\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:\n\nBachelor’s, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent with deep relevant experience\n\nLOCATION:\n\nAustin, TX, Bellevue or Seattle, WA, Santa Clara, CA within a commutable distance to other AMD offices.\n\nTHIS ROLE IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR VISA SPONSORSHIP\n\n#LI-AG1\n\nBenefits offered are described: \n\nAMD benefits at a glance.\n\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
