This role will support financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and operational analysis across manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, and capital investment activities. The analyst will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver financial insights, drive operational excellence, and support business decisions that improve financial performance.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nSupport quarterly forecasts, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and long-range planning activities for Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), inventory, and capital expenditures (CapEx).\n\nPartner with manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, engineering, and operations teams to provide financial analysis and support business initiatives.\n\nManage assigned forecasting and reporting processes, ensuring timely identification of risks, opportunities, and financial impacts.\n\nPerform variance analysis of actual results versus forecast, budget, and prior periods, and communicate key drivers to management.\n\nAnalyze inventory trends, manufacturing costs, operational metrics, and gross margin drivers to support informed business decisions.\n\nSupport month-end and quarter-end close activities, including accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and management reviews.\n\nPrepare financial reports, presentations, and business summaries for finance leadership and key stakeholders.\n\nMaintain and enhance financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools to improve visibility and decision-making.\n\nDrive process improvements through automation, standardization, and data analytics initiatives.\n\nEnsure compliance with corporate policies, internal controls, and financial governance requirements.\n\nParticipate in special projects involving financial transformation, system enhancements, reporting improvements, and operational efficiency initiatives.\n\nSupport data quality and governance efforts to improve reporting accuracy and consistency across finance processes.\n\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:\nFinance experience, preferably in manufacturing finance, operations finance, supply chain finance, cost accounting, or FP&A.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and operational data.\nUnderstanding of cost accounting, inventory management, financial planning, and reporting processes.\nExperience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.\nExperience with Power BI, Snowflake, Power Automate, or other analytics and automation tools is a plus.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.\nDemonstrated continuous improvement mindset with a focus on automation, efficiency, and operational excellence.\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS\nBachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.\nCPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification is an advantage.\nLOCATION:\nPenang, Malaysia\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
